After a successful year with numerous launching of new products and services last year, Baiduri Bank started the year 2002 aggressively with the launching of new MasterCard Credit Cards.

The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Hussain bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Mohd Yusof represented by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Dani bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, was the guest of honour at the official launching of Baiduri MasterCard 2002 FIFA World Cup Credit Cards at the Empire Hotel. Foreign diplomats, Brunei Amateur Football Association (BAFA) officials and team players, representatives of MasterCard International from Malaysia and Singapore were amongst the 300 guests who attended the function.

Baiduri Bank through their association with MasterCard International is offering specially designed 2002 FIFA World Cup MasterCards to the Bruneian public. During the promotion period from January - April 2002, successful applicants received special MasterCard 2002 FIFA World Cup premium items. There were two grand draws, one in February and another in April and each winner received a travel package to watch the match live in Korea/Japan, courtesy of MasterCard International. This draw is open to Baiduri MasterCard cardholders who charged a minimum of BND20 to their cards

Baiduri Bank also donated 10% of all annual fees received from successful applicants of Baiduri MasterCard 2002 FIFA World Cup Credit Cards to BAFA to for the development of soccer (sports) in Brunei Darussalam.
