Baiduri Bank has recently announced its partnership with Western Union Financial Services, Inc., a worldwide leader in money transfer services. Through this partnership, the Bank now provides the Western Union Money Transfer® service through their branch network in Brunei. It is the first and only bank in Brunei to offer the service, which complements its existing range of payment services, especially remittances overseas.

Western Union uses a unique proprietary money transfer system to offer fast, convenient, reliable and safe remittances worldwide. With more than 230,000 agent locations in over 200 countries and territories, including banks, post offices, railway stations and airports, it provides reliable transfers within minutes, subject to hours of operation of agent locations, differences in time zones and other applicable restrictions.

For extra convenience, Western Union also offers Home Delivery Service in the Philippines through appointed messengers. Additional benefits of this service include 24-hour delivery to receivers in Metro Manila, and US Dollar payout subject to the availability of US Dollars at point of delivery.

Currently, Western Union is running a Christmas promotion for customers sending money from Brunei to the Philippines. Every money transfer made between 21 November and 31 December 2005 will entitle the customer to a free Jollibee treat. Customers have a choice of Halo-Halo, Torpedo, Beefburger, Spaghetti Special or Chickenjoy, subject to availability of vouchers at agent location.

The Western Union Money Transfer service is available at all Baiduri Bank branches throughout Brunei, including Tutong, Seria and Kuala Belait. In addition to secured and efficient services, the Bank also offers greater convenience through its extended hours branches located at The Mall and Supa Save Gadong, which open 7 days a week from 10am – 10pm.
