|BAIDURI BANK BRINGS JOY TO SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN AT HARI RAYA GATHERING|

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, 05 December 2005 – Baiduri Bank today held a Hari Raya Gathering for 150 special needs children with their parents at the Child Development Centre in Kiarong.
Mr Andrew Young, Deputy General Manager Operations of Baiduri Bank and Pg Hashim Pg Hj Besar, Chief Executive Officer of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, gave away gift hampers to the special needs children in celebration of the festive occasion.
Commenting on this event, Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank, said, “As we all know, Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a joyous occasion when Muslims of all ages, cultural backgrounds and economic status celebrate in the spirit of brotherhood. It is also the time for alms-giving and sharing with others. Through this gathering, we hope to provide an opportunity for the special needs children to enjoy the lively festive atmosphere, to share happy moments with one another, and to know that they are loved and cared for.''
Baiduri Bank has been actively involved in promoting the well-being of special needs children through a number of educational initiatives and sponsorship projects jointly organised with welfare bodies such as the Child Development Centre, Pusat Ehsan and Society for the Management of Autism-Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei. Its annual fundraising event, the Baiduri Bank Charity Golf Tournament, also provides an avenue for golf enthusiasts and members of the public to contribute towards this cause.
