In collaboration with Fire Services Department, a group of 15 Baiduri Bank staff comprising branch managers and officers took part in an introductory course on Fire Prevention at Fire Training Centre, Old Airport, Berakas on 13 March 2006.
The Fire prevention training provides basic knowledge in the area of Fire Safety, role and responsibilities of Fire Marshal, the different types of fire fighting equipment, the usage of fire extinguisher as well as practical fire fighting techniques.
Fire prevention training is an essential part of any workplace safety programme. The goal of the training is to equip Baiduri Bank staff with basic understanding on fire safety and prevention measures, and to reinforce responsibility for their personal and the Bank’s safety. During the training, participants were also taught on fire prevention, evacuation process and developing emergency action plans.
More sessions will be conducted for Baiduri Bank staff in the next few months.
Baiduri Bank has made it a standard procedure for all staff to undergo a safety training programme on fire emergencies to ensure that they are well-informed about fire safety issues. This is also in line with the Bank’s policy to maintain high standards of physical security as well as health and safety at workplace. |
