Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd August 2008. In support of efforts to raise funds for Pusat Ehsan, Baiduri Bank today took part in the annual Charity Bazaar held at the Centre’s premises in Kampong Bengkurong.
Ms Veronica Chong, Senior Manager, Personnel and Finance and Ms Dorothy Newn, Manager, Marketing and Public Relations, of Baiduri Bank joined other employees who volunteered their time to man the Bank’s booth.
Dressed in green t-shirts, they sold food and drinks and organize fun activities such as water gun shooting, face painting, tattoo and lucky dips with the aim to raise as much funds as possible within the day at the Centre.
Another activity seen at the booth was the sale of quality used items donated by employees of the Bank. These included clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, magazines and household appliances. The garage sale is aimed at promoting recycling to reduce wastage, to conserve resources for future sustainability and at the same time, to inculcate a culture of caring for the less fortunate among its employees.
Proceeds from today’s activities will be donated to Pusat Ehsan.
Pusat Ehsan is among the many welfare organizations that are actively supported by Baiduri Bank annually as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.
The Bank aims to raise public awareness about the needs of special people and to promote activities and assistance that would contribute towards special people gaining acceptance in the wider society. In October 2007, Baiduri Bank took in a former member of Pusat Ehsan as a member of staff. |
