| BAIDURI BANK GROUP HOSTS MEDIA APPRECIATION DINNER |

Bandar Seri Begawan, Thursday, 04 December 2008. To show their appreciation for the support given to them, Baiduri Bank Group today hosted a dinner for some 150 members of the media. The event took place at I-Lotus Restaurant in Kampong Rimba.
The gathering of guests included reporters and editorial teams from the various local newspapers, TV and radio, from both the private and public sectors.
The evening began with a welcome address by Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank. He thanked the guests for their invaluable support given during the year which has helped to propel Baiduri Bank to win the Bank of the Year Award for Brunei for 2008. This is the sixth time in seven years that the Bank has won the award.
"For a Bruneian bank, winning international recognition means that Baiduri Bank's products and services are in line with the highest international standards, and provides motivation to continue striving for excellence". "Though we are still young (we are just 14 years old this year), we have proven year after year our capabilities in the financial world. In Brunei, we can compare ourselves with international players which have been in the market for 50 years or more".
Mr Imhof shared the Bank’s plans for next year which included strengthening even further relationship with the media. Among others, the Bank shall widen the functions of its Marketing Department to more comprehensively handle communications with the public and the media. "As a financial institution serving the public”, added Mr Imhof, “it is important that the public gets accurate and timely information in order to help them make important decision."
"“Tonight, we would like to acknowledge you, the media, as a very important part of the system, and as our partner in disseminating information about us to the public via your various channels", he added.
The guests were treated to an evening of good food, fun and games.
Also in attendance were Mr Raymond Bariou, Senior Deputy General Manager of Baiduri Bank, Mr Ti Eng Hui, Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking and Branch Network and senior executives of the Bank. |
