| TELBRU AND BAIDURI BANK SIGNS VASA |

Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru) and Baiduri Bank today signed a Value Added Services Agreement (VASA) to further enhance bill payment services for customers. The signing ceremony was witnessed by YM Dato Paduka Awang Hj Yusoff Bin Hj Abd Hamid, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Communications who was Guest of Honour. The ceremony was held at Dewan Wijaya, TelBru Headquarters, Berakas and was attended by guests that included officials from various Government departments, the Ministry of Communications and senior officials from both companies.
Signing on behalf of TelBru was its Managing Director, Mr Song Kin Koi and Dayang Marinna Hj Mahari, Senior Manager, Head of TelBru’s Corporate Finance, while Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank and Mr Andrew Young, Deputy General Manager – Operations of Baiduri Bank signed on behalf of the Bank.
On the significance of this signing, Mr Song Kin Koi said, “Ever since corporatization, TelBru have constantly strive to provide greater convenience to our customers. This signing is inline with our Customer Service Strategy, which places high importantance on our customers’ satisfaction. Indeed, we are proud to collaborate with Baiduri Bank in providing more value added services to customers of both organization.”
Meanwhile in his address, Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank said, “Baiduri Bank’s partnership with TelBru began with the birth of TelBru some two years ago. That was when we entered into a Merchant Agreement with them for credit card terminals at their payment counters as a payment option to their customers. Today we take our partnership to a higher level by entering into this Value Added Service Agreement (VASA) which provides for a comprehensive range of payment services to TelBru customers.”
“TelBru customers may avail themselves to these payment services which are free of charge. They aim to make the customers’ lives easier by providing convenient “pay-bill” options anytime, anywhere without having to go to the payment counters.”
TelBru customers can now pay their TelBru bills through ATM and internet banking in addition to paying at the counters of Baiduri Bank branches using cash or credit cards. The most impressive service is FAST, which enables customers to pay bills and purchase mobile prepaid services using their own mobile phones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere. Available to the general public, FAST is the next generation suite of services via the mobile phone utilizing IVR technology.
The first of its kind in Brunei, FAST won a special citation for innovation at the Financial Insights Innovation Awards held in Singapore in February 2008.
