BAIDURI’S PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLANNERS ATTEND CONGRESS IN SINGAPORE |

Bandar Seri Begawan, 12 March 2008. Five (5) top personal financial planners from Baiduri Bank have returned to Brunei after attending the 30th Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS) National Congress 2008 held last week in Singapore.
The trip was part of the Bank’s professional development programme and the five were selected based on their excellent performance in the area of wealth management during the past year.
The five were Helen Hwong, Damon Liew, Dolienna Brahim, Cheng Eng Khen and Ngo Yik Pei. They were accompanied during the trip by Mr Peng Eng Soon, Head of the Bank’s Wealth Management Centre.
IFPAS is a professional association for insurance and financial practitioners in Singapore whose primary objectives include the promotion of ethical and professional practices and the promotion of continuous professional and educational development of their members.
The 30th IFPAS National Congress saw speakers from within the region and USA covering such topics as best practices, financial planning, life insurance, wealth management, estate planning, professional grooming, leadership and motivation. More than 1,000 participants attended the conference.
“Besides the conference, the Congress gave us the opportunity to network with experience professionals from the region and learn from them. I found it a very enriching experience and I have learnt a lot. I am thankful to the Bank for sending me there”, said Ms Helen Kwong, Manager of the Baiduri Bank’s Seria Branch.
Speaking on the Bank’s future direction in Wealth Management, Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank said, “Our Wealth Management business had a successful year in 2007. The Opening of the Wealth Management Centre in Kiulap marked an important milestone. Our future plans include enhancing our wealth management offerings by introducing new products and providing more opportunities for professional development so that we will be always able to meet our customers’ expectations.”
Baiduri Bank currently has 37 certified personal financial planners who successfully completed the Certificate in Financial Planning programme offered by the Singapore College of Insurance and two (2) managers who possess the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) qualifications. The Certificate in Financial Planning (Cert.FP) paves the way to the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) qualification, which is one of the highest professional designations available in financial consulting. |
