Bandar Seri Begawan, Tuesday, 23 June 2010. In collaboration with RIPAS Hospital Blood Bank, Baiduri Bank Group yesterda held a blood donation campaign at its Training Centre at Kiarong Complex.
Organized by the Human Resources Department, the event is an annual project in support of the Blood Bank’s initiatives to increase its stock of blood. The project is also aimed to cultivate the spirit of caring for others among the bank’s workforce.
Around 80 members of staff from various departments as well as customers came forward in support of this worthy cause. Ms Veronica Chong, Senior Manager, HR and Finance, was on hand to give her support. Ms Chong said, “It is encouraging to see such a big turnout from members of staff and even clients of the Bank. It shows how much our staff cares for the community”. Among those who made donations were Ms Dorothy Newn, the Bank’s Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager as well as senior executives of the Group.
In line with its CSR objective to give back to society, Baiduri Bank Group has regularly been a major sponsor of the annual World Blood Donor Day, which aims to create awareness of the importance of donating blood to save lives. This year’s World Blood Donor Day emphasized developing the spirit of responsibility among the youth in the country in donating blood. During the event held at the Katok Sixth Form Centre on 14th June, the Minister of Health, YB Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan presented certificates to young donors in appreciation of their efforts.
