Bandar Seri Begawan, 24 June 2010.  Baiduri Bank Group’s main objective in the area of human capital is to continually enhance the skills and competencies of the workforce to build a quality team with the right skills and talents to meet the Group’s current and future needs and ambitions.

In keeping with this objective, the Group’s IT Project Manager, Mr Simon Hansman recently underwent and successfully completed a PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Course in Kuala Lumpur, achieving outstanding results in the post-training exam. 

Mr Hansman received his certificate from the General Manager of Baiduri Bank, Mr Pierre Imhof in a ceremony held at the Head Office of Baiduri Bank in Kiarong today.  Mr Imhof congratulated Mr Hansman and spoke of Baiduri’s approach to developing human capital.  “In today’s fast-paced and highly competitive business environment, organizations are relying heavily on IT to deliver accurate and secure information for quick business decisions and for delivery of service to customers. And this means, developing our people to give them the right skills set to perform effectively in their roles.  This very specialized training is part of our integrated approach to developing effective human capital to meet business needs.”  

PRINCE2 is a process-based method for effective project management and is a standard used extensively by the UK Government.  It is widely recognized and used in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally.  It offers non-proprietary best practice guidelines on project management.  The key features of PRINCE2 are its focus on business justification; a defined structure for the project management team, product-based planning; an emphasis on dividing the project into manageable and controllable stages and its ability to be tailored to an appropriate level.

The PRINCE2 Practitioner examination is designed to measure the candidate’s ability to apply PRINCE2 to the running and management of a project.   During the examination, Simon Hansman achieved excellent scores, putting him amongst the best.
