Currently in the Philippines, the 22-year-old in an interview said: "I am feeling pretty good about this year's Baiduri Masters. Like any other golf game, whether it's a practice round or a tournament round, you must have confidence in yourself that you can perform the best golf that you can play"

Since winning the championship last year with a score of 71 gross, he said: "I have been playing in a few amateur events as well as joining the professional golf tour as an amateur in the Philippines. There were ups and downs in my game since then but I was able to win the Best Amateur Award in one leg of the Philippine Professional Golf Tour."

Speaking about the Baiduri Masters, he said: "The Baiduri Masters Championship is a great event for all golfers as well as for its beneficiaries. It's an event that makes everyone happy."

On the challenges that he will face in the competition the young Filipino golfer said: "Golf is a type of game that anything and anyone can suddenly take you by surprise. Yes. I see everyone participating in the tournament as a challenge. No one should be underestimated especially considering the magnitude of this championship."
