Bandar Seri Begawan - Last year's defending champion Carlos Miguel Eleazer Ochoa from the Philippines will be returning to Brunei Darussalam to defend his title of the upcoming Baiduri Masters Charity Golf Tournament to be held for two weeks from May 25-27 and June 1-3 at the RBA Golf Club.

Currently in the Philippines, the 22-year-old in an interview said: "I am feeling pretty good about this year's Baiduri Masters. Like any other golf game, whether it's a practice round or a tournament round, you must have confidence in yourself that you can perform the best golf that you can play"

Since winning the championship last year with a score of 71 gross, he said: "I have been playing in a few amateur events as well as joining the professional golf tour as an amateur in the Philippines. There were ups and downs in my game since then but I was able to win the Best Amateur Award in one leg of the Philippine Professional Golf Tour."

Speaking about the Baiduri Masters, he said: "The Baiduri Masters Championship is a great event for all golfers as well as for its beneficiaries. It's an event that makes everyone happy."

"I really appreciate the time and effort that the organisers are putting into this every year. What more can anyone ask? You're playing golf with a chance of taking home a car, hole in one cash and raffle prizes plus you're helping out the community by just playing,- Carlos highlighted.

On the challenges that he will face in the competition the young Filipino golfer said: "Golf is a type of game that anything and anyone can suddenly take you by surprise. Yes. I see everyone participating in the tournament as a challenge. No one should be underestimated especially considering the magnitude of this championship."

The defending champion is hoping to play from June 1-3.

Local and foreign golfers have a chance to win either a Porsche Boxster, a BMW 520 and a Mini Cooper, altogether worth around 300.000 as the hole in one prizes for the upcoming Baiduri Masters Charity Golf Tournament

Besides the luxury cars, this year's participants will also stand a chance to win two cash prizes of 20,000 each with other attractive tournament prizes.

The registration fee for the Baiduri Masters 2012 will be $120 for adults and $60 for juniors. The registration fee is inclusive of green fee, buggy buffet breakfast and lunch.

Participating golfers can play more than one game to improve their chances of winning. For the second and subsequent game, adult player will enjoy a 10 percent discount on the registration fee. The best score of any round played will be taken.

Registration deadline for the first weekend's tournament is May 23 while for the second weekend's tournament is May 30.
