| BAIDURI BANK STAFF ATTENDS ASEAN TRAINING AWARDS 2003 | |||||

Under an invitation from Brunei Ministry of Foreign Affairs to local banks, Baiduri Bank is pleased to have nominated Madam Chin Fui Fah, Treasurer of the Bank, to attend the ASEAN Training Awards held in Singapore from 23 June – 4 July 2003. This is one of the many programmes sponsored by Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP), a special unit administered by the Technical Cooperation Directorate of the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ASEAN Training Awards 2003 offers a variety of specialised courses on information technology, environmental management and business administration. The course attended by Madam Chin was on Banking and Finance. Conducted by Centre for Continuing Education, Nanyang Technological University, the course covered topics such as the definition and measurement of money, monetary and fiscal policies, financial markets and institutions, bank management, Central Bank and banking regulations, and recent innovations in Singapore Banking. To enhance learning, the course also included field trips to Asia Pacific Breweries, Singapore Discovery Centre, Singapore Mint, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Singapore Exchange and the Bank of Singapore. Madam Chin was the only representative from Brunei under ASEAN Training Awards. Other course participants comprised senior officials from government ministries and financial institutions in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. “We are fully committed to staff training and development, for it determines our competitive advantage,” said Madam Veronica Chong, Personnel Manager for Baiduri Bank. “It is an honour for Baiduri Bank to participate in the ASEAN Training Awards. We would like to express our utmost appreciation to all parties concerned for granting our staff this beneficial experience,” said Madam Chong . |
