The Baiduri Bank Charity Golf 2005 will be held at Pantai Mentiri Golf Club from 30 September – 02 October 2005. Participating golfers stand a chance to win luxury cars including a BMW X3 2.5 and a BMW 325 for Hole 9 and 13 respectively, and Land Rover Freelander TD4 for Holes 7 and 17. There will also be charity draws, with home electrical appliances and other attractive prizes up for grabs.

A signing ceremony for the sponsorship of the hole-in-one car prizes was held this morning at the QAF Motor Showroom in Beribi. Signing on behalf of QAF Motor Group was HRH Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi, Executive Deputy Chairman and CEO of QAF Brunei, while Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank, signed on behalf of the Bank.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Mr Ti Eng Hui, Deputy General Manager Retail Banking & Branch Network of Baiduri Bank; Dato Paduka Chua Pheng Siong, General Manager of QAF Transport Sdn Bhd and QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd; Mr Roger Fletcher, General Manager of QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, as well as senior managers and officers from Baiduri Bank and its strategic partners.

Since it first started in 1996, the Baiduri Bank Charity Golf has been actively involved in sponsorship and projects with welfare bodies such as the Child Development Centre, Pusat Ehsan and SMARTER Brunei.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr Pierre Imhof said, “We believe in supporting programmes that offer educational opportunities to children with special needs in the communities where we work and live. This is the key to helping them embark on a successful future.

“Over the years, we have worked very closely with government agencies and local charities on major projects such as the Special Olympics, charity concerts, early intervention programmes and training workshops for local therapists. We applaud these charities for the excellent initiatives they have implemented, and look forward to the important accomplishments that their work will achieve for the local community.

“In addition, we have also provided financial assistance to individuals, especially children, who require medical treatment overseas to battle against life-threatening illnesses. We hope that through our support these individuals are able to recover from their illnesses and lead a productive life.

” Baiduri Bank Charity Golf provides an opportunity for golfers to make a difference in the local community. “By participating in the Baiduri Bank Charity Golf, golfers will not only get to enjoy a good game of golf, but also contribute to local charities and help build a brighter future for deserving children,” said Mr Imhof.

The tournament is open to any golfer with a valid handicap of up to 28 for men and 36 for women. Registration fee is BND100 and the deadline for registration is 27 September 2005. The first 250 golfers to sign up for the Charity Golf will receive an exclusive MasterCard goodie bag consisting of a golf towel and a cap.
