Bandar Seri Begawan, Wednesday, 29 November 2007.   A total of 22 senior officials of the Baiduri Bank Group attended a briefing on crime prevention held at Baiduri Bank’s Training Centre in Kiulap today.

The briefing was conducted by personnel from the Serious Crime Unit and the Public Relations Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force, led by Senior Superintendent Pengiran Kamaluddin Bin Pengiran Setia Raja Pengiran Haji Jaya, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department.  The talk covered the role of RBPF, Crime Prevention and measures to be taken in the event of a robbery.

Mr Raymond Bariou, Baiduri Bank’s Senior Deputy General Manager, in an interview after the event said “We welcome the initiative taken by the Royal Brunei Police Force in conducting this talk for the Bank.  Commercial and serious crimes all over the world are increasing at a frightening rate each day.  Although it has not reached a serious level here, that is an issue we take seriously, and we will always take measures to equip ourselves with the latest knowledge, skills and technology to avoid such happenings in the interest of the public, the authority and the Bank”.

Mr Bariou further shared, “The Bank has set up more than two years ago the Security Control Centre which utilizes state of the art equipment and is managed round the clock by highly trained personnel, to provide protection at all our premises throughout the country”.

DSP Sharazuddin bin Haji Masri, Acting Head of Public Relations Unit of RBAF said, “This talk is specially designed for employees of banks and is part of an ongoing effort by the Royal Brunei Police Force to work together with the public to create awareness on crime and at the same time providing them with tips on preventive measures that can be taken to avoid such crime.  We intend to hold similar talks with other banks in the future”.

Among those who attended the briefing today included Haji Haliluddin Dato Hj Talip, General Manager of Baiduri Finance Berhad, branch managers and heads of department of Baiduri Bank.
