OFFICIAL OPENING OF BAIDURI BANK MUARA BRANCH

Bandar Seri Begawan, Monday, 22nd October 2007 – The official opening ceremony for the new Baiduri Bank Muara Branch took place today at the branch premises in Muara Town.

Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Hj Md Yussof Bin Bakar, the Brunei-Muara District Officer was the Guest of Honour at the function.

The ceremony began with a speech by Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank.  This was followed by the cutting of ribbon to signify the official opening by the guest of honour.

In his welcome speech, Mr Imhof said, “Baiduri Bank is fully committed to providing customers with the highest quality service.  We recognize the growing business activities and development within this town and its surrounding area. In line with our commitments, Baiduri Bank has taken the step to open this branch with the aim of providing easy accessibility and convenience to our growing customer base here”.

Strategically located on the ground floor of Bangunan Tiga Tingkat in the heart of Muara Town, and within walking distance from the car park and bus terminal, the new branch opened for business on 17th September, to cater for the anticipated increase in banking activities ahead of the Hari Raya festival.

This branch is fast becoming a popular stopover among the local population.  The branch offers a wide range of products and services, including new account opening, loan and credit card applications, sign-ups for investment products and Western Union money transfer service.  It has a 24-hour ATM providing cash withdrawal, bills payment from customers account, account and credit card balance inquiry and mobile phone top-up.

Mr Imhof further said, “With innovation and customer’s convenience in mind, Baiduri Bank recently launched another new service, the first of its kind in Brunei - the next generation mobile suite of services named FAST”.

FAST is an advanced banking service via the mobile phone that allows subscribers to pay bills and perform other banking operations, top up prepaid mobile phone cards, and other value added services within the most secured environment.  With FAST, customers will no longer have to stand in queue, face parking dilemmas or take time off from work to go to the bank.  They can handle their banking needs from their mobile phones, from anywhere and at any time of the day.

Baiduri Bank now has a total of 11 branches throughout Brunei Darussalam.
