Bandar Seri Begawan, Friday, 04 September 2009.  To encourage payment of bills via electronic channels, Baiduri Bank rolled out a 'Bill Payments Made Easy Promotion' from mid-May to mid-August 2009 with monthly cash prizes to be won. Users were automatically entered into a draw and each month 3 lucky winners would win cash prizes of BND500.00 each.

Eligible bill payments included payments for Baiduri Hire Purchase, Baiduri Credit Card bills, payment for B-Mobile, DST and TelBru bills through either ATMs, cash deposit machines, i-Banking or FAST on mobile phone.

Two of the three lucky winners of the final draw were presented with their prizes this afternoon. They were Haji Jaafar Bin Haji Bakar and Hjh Norlela Bte Md Hussein @ Hussin.  They received their prizes from Mr Raymond Bariou, Senior Deputy General Manager of the Bank.  Also in attendance was Ms Dorothy Newn, Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager of the Bank.

Designed for the busy and technology savvy individuals, these easy payment channels allow customers the option to conduct their banking transactions and other banking needs through convenient electronic means.

Haji Jaafar, who works as the CEO of Petroleum Brunei said, “I pay my credit card bills every month through the CDM.  I find it very convenient as it is available 24-hours and I don’t have to take time off from work to go to the bank.” Hajah Norlela, who works as an editor at RTB echoed the same sentiment.  She uses the ATM to pay for her monthly car installments.

Mr Raymond Bariou was quick to add “Rather than having to wait in line in queues, beat traffic jams and search for parking space, these electronic channels allows customers convenient alternatives for their banking needs.  Some customers choose this because they want to avoid crowded places, especially now with the Influenza H1N1 threat. We are very pleased to see an increase in usage each month, indicating a growing acceptance and confidence in these channels.”
