Bandar Seri Begawan, Wednesday, 9th September 2009.  To provide a more interactive and responsive experience for Baiduri Bank Group’s customers, Baiduri Bank today launched it’s newly enhanced Personal Internet Banking (PIB) service. This was announced by Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank at a Press Conference held at the Bank’s Training Centre in Kiarong this afternoon.

“Since Baiduri Bank launched internet banking in July 2001, the first internet banking service in Brunei, we have been continually upgrading the service, leveraging on the latest technologies available to bring added convenience to customers and at the same time, to complement the Brunei Government’s various e-initiative.”  “The new look is designed to be both refreshing and pleasing to the eye and is aimed to provide customers with a new user-friendly internet banking service”.

During the conference, a demonstration on the features of the new PIB service was given by Mr Sim Kiem Lee, Chief Technology Officer of Baiduri Bank.

After logging in, customers will be presented a high level summary of all accounts on one page.  They can easily view their most recent transactions and download or export into their accounting software or PDF. From there, they can view and export their transaction histories, make one click payment of credit card bills and do quick and easy funds transfer.  Customers can also create their own handy shortcuts for frequent transactions.

A popular existing feature is the Bill Payment Service which allows customers to pay Baiduri credit card, B.Mobile, DST and TelBru bills.  Customers can set up payees in real time and make funds transfers immediately.  Top ups of both prepaid mobile phones and of the MasterCard CashCard can also be done through the service.

Over the next few months, more features will be added into the PIB service such as opening of accounts online and a number of new billers, and these will be announced when they become available.

The PIB site continues to use the most modern and advanced encryption and security technologies and provides a safe and convenient way to bank online.  Either a token or a mobile phone can be used to authenticate the user, thus providing more convenience and choice to the customer.

Also present at the press conference were Mr Andrew Young, Deputy General Manager Operations Management Division, Mr Ti Eng Hui, Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking and Branch Network, Mr Simon Hansman, IT Project Manager and Ms Dorothy Newn, Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager of Baiduri Bank.

From now until 30 November 2009, customers who sign up for the PIB service will receive a welcome gift.  For those who register online, they will also receive a MasterCard CashCard preloaded with B$10 to get them started on online shopping.

In addition, all new and existing customers who perform selected online transactions will be automatically entered into a monthly draw where they will stand a chance to be one of the ten winners to win B$50.00 monthly.  At the end of the promotion period, one winner will be picked to win the grand prize of an iMac.
