Bandar Seri Begawan, 25th January 2011 – Baiduri Bank hosted an investment seminar for over 100 invited customers on the topic of “Economic and Currency Outlook for 2011” on the 13th January 2011. The event was held at the Radisson Hotel in the capital. The guest speakers for the seminar were Mr Richard Iley, Chief Economist and Ms Thio Chin Loo, Currency Strategist for BNP Paribas Asia Pacific.


Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank; Mr Raymond Bariou, Senior Deputy General Manager and Mr Ti Eng Hui, Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking and Branch Network of Baiduri Bank and Hj Haliluddin bin Dato Hj Talib, General Manager of Baiduri Finance as well as other senior managers and officers from the Bank were present at the event.

In his welcome remarks, Mr Imhof thanked the attendees for their presence during the seminar, as well as for making Baiduri as the Bruneian Bank of the Year in 2010.

The event, he said, is part of Baiduri Bank’s responsibility to offer their customers updated and precise information in light of the volatile economic environment observed in 2010. He also thanked BNP Paribas, one of the biggest and strongest financial groups in the world, for having been business partners with Baiduri Bank, for more than 15 years.

Among the items covered during the seminar was a global overview and discussion of the world’s economy, especially in Asia. The guest speakers also discussed popular trends, trades and 2011 forecasts in the foreign exchange market in both the major markets and the emerging markets. The seminar then ended with a question and answer session.
