Bandar Seri Begawan, 13th September 2012 Several Baiduri Bank personnel will be going back to school over the next few weeks to teach a half day course as part of the Baiduri Bank Group’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. Baiduri Bank is proud to support the Junior Achievement (JA) Programme which was launched by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) recently.

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. Participation in the JA Programme is part of Baiduri Bank Group’s commitment to helping community development.

The Bank will be in charge of   delivering the JA Economics for Success course to students aged between 10 to 14 years old. It is a series of six activities, which will explore personal finance and students’ education and career options based on their skills, interests, and values

"Baiduri Bank Group has been presented with this unique opportunity to give back to society, and we are very excited to be part of this programme. Through this programme, we hope that the students will grow up to be responsible with money, pursue higher education and have successful careers," said Mr Pierre Imhof, CEO, Baiduri Bank, who is also one of the volunteers in the JA Programme.

Through the JA Economics for Success course, students will learn about wise money management, economics, and business through games that trigger their innovative thinking and will provide them a positive impact on their behavior as future professionals and consumers.

Baiduri has been continually supporting events that expose and nurture students to build up their entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen. One such project that is also currently ongoing is the BigStart Competition, a business plan competition organized by Baiduri Bank in partnership with the Co-Curricular Department, Ministry of Education through their Skills and Entrepreneurship Division.
