Bandar Seri Begawan, Wednesday 13 November 2013 – To provide added convenience to the public, Baiduri Bank entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) to provide card payment facilities at various outlets within the Ministry.

The Internet Merchant Agreement and Merchant Agreement signing ceremony took place at Dewan Setia Pahlawan, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources in Jalan Menteri Besar and was attended by Puan Hajah Normah Suria Hayati binti PJDSMDSU (Dr.) Haji Awang Mohd. Jamil Al-Sufri, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources as the guest of honour. Other guests included officials from the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources and Baiduri Bank.

Ms Lee Ai Cheng, Senior Manager, Sales and Services, Card Centre of Baiduri Bank, signed on behalf of the Bank while Awang Ramlee bin Haji Jamudin, the Chief Information Officer and Director of Management and Finance signed on behalf of the Ministry.

Hajah Maripaz Abdullah, Manager, Business Development, Retail Banking Division of Baiduri Bank and Haji Afero Eswandy bin Haji Mohammad, Chief Information Officer, Ministry of Home Affairs signed as witnesses.

The agreement will allow MIPR to accept licence fees and other payments that are made online and over the Business Facilitation Centre counters by cards through swiping on terminals provided by Baiduri Bank or via internet payment facilities through MIPR’s website.

At the event, Ms Lee Ai Cheng of Baiduri Bank said, "Baiduri Bank is proud to enter into this Agreement with the MIPR for card payment facilities at their premises. This is a very convenient method of settling their payments without having to bring huge amounts of cash or having to issue a cheque".

Baiduri Bank is currently the only bank in Brunei that offer card payment facilities via four card brands: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and UnionPay, thereby providing the highest level of flexibility to both merchants and cardholders using debit, credit and pre-paid cards. In addition, Baiduri Bank credit and debit cardholder earn bonus points when they charge their spending to their cards. These are then converted into reward points which they can redeem for purchases at any Baiduri merchants locally.
