Bandar Seri Begawan, 24 September 2013 – Baiduri Bank has once again teamed up with Amundi Asset Management to launch a new fund, the Amundi Short Term Bond Fund. In conjunction with this launch, Baiduri Bank hosted two seminars to introduce their customers on the features and benefits of the new fund.

The first seminar was held on 20 September 2013, Friday afternoon at the Mutiara Ballroom, Radisson Hotel, to accommodate customers living the Brunei-Muara district. On hand to welcome guests was Pg Azaleen Pg Dato Hj Mustapha, Senior Manager Treasury Department of Baiduri Bank.

The second seminar was held on 21 September 2013, Saturday at the Multi Purpose Hall at Seria Pusat Insani for customers residing in the Belait district area, where guests were welcomed by Ms. Helen Hwong, Regional Manager, Branch Network, Tutong & Belait Districts. Present at both events was Mr. Peng Eng Soon, Head of Wealth Management in Baiduri Bank.

Mr Raymond Lim, Director, Head of Asian Bonds of Amundi Singapore and lead fund manager for the Amundi Short Term Bond Fund was invited by Baiduri Bank to conduct both seminars.

Presenting in detail the research, strategies, benefits and potential returns from investing in the fund, Mr. Lim explained that the fund seeks to provide yield enhancement by investing in short term fixed income securities and money market instruments that offer higher yields without excessive risk despite the current Singapore Dollar deposit rates being low.

"The Amundi Short Term Bond Fund seeks to preserve invested capital by investing in high quality short term fixed income instruments, hedging non-Singapore Dollar exposures, and maintaining portfolio diversification," said Mr. Lim.

He further elaborated, "Early withdrawal of fixed deposits may incur penalty or forfeiture of interest earned, whilst investors of individual bond holdings may face the problem of liquidity risk when they need to exit their investments. But with this fund, investors may now enjoy the benefits of financial flexibility and control. They may redeem their holdings on a daily basis, without any additional penalty."

Mr Raymond Lim also shared that the fund is put through an investment process of multiple sources of performance drivers, market analysis and stringent risk management.

Aside from the Amundi Short Term Bond Fund, Baiduri Bank currently offers four other sub-funds from Amundi Opportunities and Amundi Alternative Investments namely the Amundi Bonus Builder fund, Amundi Singapore Dividend Growth, Amundi Global Luxury & Lifestyle Fund and Amundi India Infrastructure Fund.

Baiduri Bank has also been actively promoting their Foreign Currency Fixed Deposit and Savings Account products as well as Twin Currency Deposits for those customers seeking higher returns.

100 invited guests attended at the Radisson and 70 guests attended at Pusat Insani for the seminars hosted by Baiduri Bank.
