Bandar Seri Begawan, 23 July 2014. In the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Baiduri Bank and Fun Bee Park organized a day of fun-filled activities and games for the students of the Learning Ladders Society.

Fun Bee Park, established in September 2011 as an indoor activity centre, promotes the methodology of "Learning through Play" where they hope to stimulate the imagination of children with creativity-based activities. The activities prepared by the staff of Fun Bee Park for students of the Learning Ladders Society included an arts and crafts activity, pastry decorating and popular children’s games such as Musical Chairs and Pass-The-Parcel. Anna May Bunyi, Creative Instructor at Fun Bee Park said, "We hope to in still many good qualities in the children under our care by leading through example. We are delighted to provide our time and energy for this worthwhile cause initiated by Baiduri [Bank] in giving back to society."

Speaking on the banks CSR initiatives, Pg. Azaleen Pg. Dato Hj Mustapha, Head of Retail Banking Division of Baiduri Bank said, “Giving back to our community, whether it is financially or through hands-on involvement with the help of our staff and friends, is a key aspect of corporate citizenship." Further elaborating on the importance of CSR in the country, Ms. Dorothy Newn, Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing, said, “The needs of children, especially those with special needs, are close to our hearts and we hope that this humble donation of our resources will help improve their lives and help them integrate into society."

Speaking on the benefits of such activities, Dr. Sharina binti Yunus, President of the Learning Ladders Society said, “Children with autism require activities such as these as it provides exposure to them which is crucial in overcoming problems such as social and language impairment."

Also in attendance at the event was Mr. Andrew Young, Deputy General Manager of Operations Management Division of Baiduri Bank as well as Mr. Ti Siew Leong, owner of Fun Bee Park. The Baiduri Bank Charity Committee donated hampers as well as vouchers for the boys and girls of the Learning Ladders Society. The hampers comprising school bags, stationery sets, art supplies, modeling clay and lunch boxes were rewarded to the children for their participation in the games.
