Bandar Seri Begawan, 05 June 2014 – Baiduri Masters inaugural Children’s Golf Awareness Clinic, or SNAG Golf Clinic, concluded last Saturday with 40 participants aged between 5 and 12 years old. The SNAG Golf Clinic, which was held on 31 May 2014 from 7pm to 9pm at the RBA Golf Club, was organized in partnership with Numero Uno.

The golf clinic was aptly themed 'Creating Future Masters' as it was designed to encourage children to pick up golf as a sport, and to distinguish natural-born talents who may be future golf champions. Registration fees, inclusive of coaching fee and equipment were waived to further encourage parents to expose their children to golf.

The golf clinic comprised of three categories – Graduates aged 5 to 12 years old, Open aged between 5 to 8 years old, and Open aged between 9 to 12 years old. Besides the free coaching, the top three performers in each category will win these fabulous prizes – golf starter pack worth B$175 for the first place, Toys R Us vouchers worth B$100 and B$50 for the second and third places respectively. In addition, winners in the open categories will also receive SNAG lessons of 27 weeks (for first place), 18 weeks (for second place), and 9 weeks (for third place) to help them further hone their golf skills, courtesy of Numero Uno. Three novelty prizes for ‘Best Par 3’, ‘Best Pitching’ and ‘Best Chipping’ will also be given out.

"The slight drizzle did not dampen the children's mood that evening. The overwhelming turnout did catch us by surprise, but we are happy to accommodate these enthusiastic youngsters. In line with the theme, it has always been an interest for Baiduri Masters to provide the means of exposing and encouraging children to the game of golf," said Mr. Imhof, CEO of Baiduri Bank.

"With the success of its first event, the committee and I will definitely put more effort into organizing another children’s golf awareness clinic in the near future. We may end up carrying it out as an annual event."

Winners and their parents will be invited to the Baiduri Masters Prize Presentation Dinner to receive their respective prizes this Sunday, 08 June 2014 at Indah Hall, Royal Brunei Recreation Club.
