BAIDURI BANK GROUP CELEBRATES THE YEAR OF THE FIRE MONKEY WITH CUSTOMERS AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATES AT THE EMPIRE HOTEL AND COUNTRY CLUB
27 February 2016
Bandar Seri Begawan, 27 February 2016. In celebration of the Lunar New Year 2016, the Baiduri Bank Group organised another dinner reception at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall, Empire Hotel and Country Club tonight for around 1,400 invited guests based in the Brunei-Muara and Tutong Districts.

At the event, guests were greeted by cheerful music and welcoming smiles as they were dropped off at the entrance of the grand hall. Local musicians enchanted the guests with classical music. They were further treated to a kaleidoscope of colour as they were ushered into the Indera Samudra Grand Hall adorned with festive decorations. The special night was held to reconnect and strengthen ties with customers and corporate clients that were instrumental to the success and identity of the Group.

The festivities kicked off with the first act of the evening, a musical number entitled "Yellow River" by Evan Chiam. This was followed by the welcoming address by Mr. Pierre Imhof, CEO of Baiduri Bank, where he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the guests for their continuous support over the years.

"Last year we received five major banking awards – the Domestic Retail Bank for Brunei and the Mobile Banking Initiative of the Year for Brunei from the Asian Banking and Finance Magazine; the Best Banking Group for Brunei from World Finance; the Bank of the Year Brunei from The Banker magazine; and Brunei's Safest Bank 2015 from Global Finance."

When speaking on the future outlook of the Bank, Mr. Imhof said that despite the challenging economic environment, he believes there are many opportunities for businesses and for the Group to grow when Brunei intensifies economic diversification and local business development.

Further elaborating on the future of the Bank, Mr. Imhof spoke on the development of the new head office which is expected to be completed in 2017. He further added that there are plans to relocate some of the Bank's branches to bigger premises.

"We have plans to relocate our Serusop and Kiulap branches in 2017 and our Tutong branch relocation is expected to be completed very soon."

Also during the dinner, 4 schools received donations from the Baiduri Bank Group as financial assistance for the underprivileged students at the schools. On hand to receive the donations were the principals of Chung Hwa Middle School, Chung Hwa Kiudang, Tutong, St. Andrew's School and St. George's School. The donations were presented by Mr. Pierre Imhof.

During the dinner, guests were entertained with a myriad of performances which included violinists, pianists, dancers, vocalists and martial arts demonstrations by musicians from Expression Music and students from the Chung Hwa Middle School. The evening concluded with a lucky draw, where 3 lucky guests walked away with an iPhone 6S Plus, a Samsung Galaxy Edge+ smartphone and an Omega luxury watch. The prizes were presented by Mr. Pierre Imhof.

Present at the event were foreign dignitaries, prominent Bruneians, businessmen, customers and business associates of the Group. Also in attendance were the management committee and senior executives of Baiduri Bank. A similar event was also held at Pusat Insani, Seria for the KB guests last night.
