| Bandar Seri Begawan, 21 July 2016 - Baiduri Bank has received the “Domestic Retail Bank of the Year for Brunei 2016” for the fourth consecutive year from the Asian Banking & Finance Magazine.
The awards ceremony was hosted by the publication company at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore last night. Receiving the award on behalf of Baiduri Bank was Pg Azaleen bin Pg Dato Hj Mustapha, Head of Retail Banking and Branch Network at Baiduri Bank. Speaking on receiving the award, Pg Azaleen said, “We are delighted to have received this award for the fourth consecutive year from the Asian Banking & Finance magazine. This would not have been made possible if it were not for the strong support from our loyal customers.” He went on to acknowledge the efforts the bank has made in terms of product and service innovation as another key factor to the banks success. “We set up a Business Banking Unit under our Retail Banking in April of last year to provide support and services to our SMEs such as the Baiduri Internet Gateway System which allows retailers to accept online payments, the Business i-Banking to assist businesses in paperless transactions and assist them in SME credit facilities where eligible.” Targeted for launch in August 2016, Baiduri will soon be offering “MerchantSuite”, an online payment platform for SMEs. “This will allow very small businesses or even individual sellers to issue invoices and receive payments online without the need to have an established website” said Pg Azaleen. He further elaborated that in line with achieving a wider customer reach, Baiduri Bank has also relocated and upgraded some of its branches to make the bank more accessible for its customers. Since 2006, the Asian Banking & Finance (ABF) magazine has been honouring and recognising the best of the best in the Banking and Finance industry in Asia. It focuses on commercial and retail banking and on the securities market from a banking perspective.
