| Bandar Seri Begawan, 14 March 2016. There was no Monday blues today for 30 students and 6 bankers as Baiduri Bank joined the rest of the world to celebrate the Global Money Week.
The students, who are from Sekolah Rendah Pusar Ulak, Bandar Seri Begawan, Sekolah Rendah Bukit Panggal, Tutong and St Angela's School, Seria, attended an exciting financial planning awareness camp held at the Baiduri Bank Learning & Development Centre in Kiarong. The day started with an introduction to the world of banking conducted by the Bank's personal financial planners. This was followed by tour of the Baiduri Capital's and Baiduri Bank's premises in Kiarong, and a whole slew of interactive quizzes and financial themed games that focused on wise money management, responsible and financially sound lifestyles and growing money. The session was concluded with a prize presentation. Global Money Week is an annual global celebration that is organized internationally and coordinated by a non-profit making organisation, Child and Youth Finance International (CYFI), Netherlands. This event, organized by AMBD with close cooperation with Ministry of Education is an annual event. In 2014, Global Money Week was observed in 118 countries where over 1 million children participated in the week-long activities. With the conclusion of the camp, it is hoped that the students will understand the different financial needs at different life stages, the difference between needs and wants, and the financial responsibilities that come with it. It is also hoped that the students will have enhanced life skills such as negotiation, social interaction, decision making, volunteerism and of course knowledge on their core subjects such as Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Business Studies and Commerce. Baiduri Bank has been a strong supporter of Global Money Week for the past 3 years.
