Baiduri Bank Group Holds Gathering To Celebrate The Lunar New Year For Belait Customers

Bandar Seri Begawan, 6 March 2017 – In celebration of the Lunar New Year 2018, the Baiduri Bank Group organised the first of two Chinese New Year Open House events for Baiduri customers and business associates based in Kuala Belait and Seria at the Royal Garden Hall, KB Sentral, today.

At the event, guests were ushered into the function hall and were welcomed by the senior management of Baiduri Bank Group. The gathering was held to strengthen ties with customers and corporate clients in Seria and Kuala Belait that have played a key role towards the success of the Group. Baiduri Bank CEO, Mr. Pierre Imhof, thanked all the guests for their loyal and continuous support over the years which has attributed to Baiduri's success in 2017.

The event kicked off with a dance performance, entitled "Welcome of Spring" by Chung Hua Middle School (CHMS KB) students. Throughout the event, guests were entertained to a wide variety of performances encompassing song, dance and martial arts by students of CHMS KB and local singers.

Among the performances included "Girls in the Bamboo Forest" which is a distinctive national dance from Yunnan province in China. The dance, performed by CHMS KB students, was a visual representation of the joy felt by the people as they ushered into the season of Spring.

Also during the event, five schools received donations from the Baiduri Bank Group as financial assistance for underprivileged students at the schools. On hand to receive the donations from Baiduri Bank's CEO, Pierre Imhof, were representatives of the schools:

  • Mr. Ang Sik Liong, Principal of Chung Ching Middle School
  • Mdm. Jaime Lim Siew Lee, Principal of Chung Hua Middle School
  • Mr. Suresh Babu, Deputy Principal of St. Margaret's School
  • Dr. Teh Keng Watt, Principal of St. John's School
  • Mr. Roman Padillo, Secondary Supervisor of St. Angela's Convent School

The event concluded with a grand performance entitled "The Silk Road" by CHMS KB students. The Silk Road comprises elements from different backgrounds such as Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western influences. The performance is a celebration of different cultures united in the pursuit of peace and harmony.

Present at the event were prominent Bruneians, businessmen, customers and business associates of the Group. Also in attendance were the management committee and senior executives of Baiduri Bank. A similar event will be held for customers based in the Brunei-Muara district at the Empire Hotel and Country Club tomorrow.
