World Class Local
Baiduri Bank, established in 1994, is a member of Baiduri Bank Group, one of the largest providers of financial products and services in Negara Brunei Darussalam. The Bank’s shareholders include Baiduri Holdings, Royal Brunei Airlines, Royal Brunei Technical Services and BNP Paribas. With a strong combination of local commitment and global expertise, the Group is acknowledged as one of the leading banks in the country with a track record of financial innovations and pioneering activities.
Widest Choice of Financial Products
Baiduri Bank Group’s core businesses include banking services to institutions or corporations, retail banking, consumer financing, securities trading and wealth management. The Bank’s Corporate Banking Division offers customized financing solutions to businesses. A new Business Banking Unit was set up in April 2015 to complement Corporate Banking Division, providing specialized services to businesses such as card merchant services for retailers, setting up Baiduri Internet Gateway System (BIGS) and Business i-Banking as well as offering SME financing. Baiduri Bank’s payment card business has the largest card member and merchant base in the country. It is the only bank in Brunei to hold franchise for four major card brands, namely, American Express, Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay, offering the widest range of payment cards to meet the needs of different customer segments.
Baiduri Finance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baiduri Bank came into existence in 1996 and is now the country’s leading automobile finance company. Baiduri Capital, another wholly-owned subsidiary was registered under the new Securities Markets Order 2013 and Securities Markets Regulations 2014. In June 2015 it started operations offering securities trading services with access to Foreign Exchange Markets comprising of SGX, HKEx and BURSA Malaysia. Other investment products will be included in the future.
Multiple Service Delivery Channels
Baiduri Bank’s branch network consists of 13 branches, a finance arm with two branches and 29 ATM locations, making it readily accessible to customers. The Bank also offers an enhanced internet banking service with two versions – for business and for personal use. Baiduri’s Personal i-Banking is also available as a mobile app.
Awards and Accolades

In 2016, Baiduri Bank Group received three major banking awards and recognitions. World Finance magazine awarded the Baiduri Bank Group the "Best Banking Group for Brunei 2016" for the eighth consecutive year; The Asian Banking and Finance magazine awarded Baiduri Bank the "Domestic Retail Bank of the Year for Brunei 2016" for the fourth consecutive year while Global Finance magazine named Baiduri Bank "The World’s Best Emerging Markets Bank in Asia-Pacific 2016 for Brunei".

Other recent awards include "Mobile Banking Initiative of the Year for Brunei 2015" from the Asian Banking and Finance magazine; the "Bank of the Year 2015 for Brunei" from The Banker magazine and "The Safest Bank in Brunei for 2015" from Global Finance magazine.

Leadership & Innovation
Renowned for its strength, commitment and innovation in the Brunei market, Baiduri Bank has many ‘firsts’ to its name. Among some recent firsts are:
  • The first to offer in-store and in-mall banking seven days a week
  • The first to launch the internationally accepted Visa Electron debit card, MasterCard electronic CashCard and Visa payWave; and instant card issuance and personalization services
  • The first to offer co-brand credit cards including the first co-brand card with American Express and the country’s national carrier Royal Brunei Airlines
  • The first and only bank to provide money remittance facilities under the Western Union Agency
  • The first and only bank to introduce multi-currency ATM dispensing US dollars, Euros, Singapore dollars and Brunei dollars
  • The first bank to launch a marketing app that dispenses e-coupons called Baiduri Deals
Corporate Social Responsibility
As good corporate citizens, the Baiduri Bank Group is committed to helping community development. Among others, the Group regularly provides financial support for child development programmes in the country. The annual Baiduri Masters charity golf event and the Bruneian Art for Charity are fundraising initiatives in support of these organizations. Included in Baiduri Bank Group’s CSR calendar are: the Universal Children’s Day, the World Blood Donor Day and a Local Business Development programme in partnership with Asia Inc Forum which aims to nurture Brunei SMEs.
Financial Strength
With total assets in the Group exceeding BND3.5 billion in 2014, Baiduri Bank Group is ranked amongst the top banking groups in Brunei. In April 2014, Baiduri Bank became the first bank in Brunei to be rated by an international rating agency when it received an impressive rating of "BBB+/A-2" from Standard & Poor’s. This rating was reaffirmed by S&P in March 2015.
