Testimonials

The first batch of apprentices from the Graduate Apprenticeship Programme.

Back Row, from L to R: Mohammad Afiq Ridhauddin Hj Abd Rahman, Ahmad Haziq Hj Nordin, Durrah Nadheerah Idris and Fatin Atiyah Haji Suharafadzil. Front Row, from L to R: Siti Nur Najibah Baharuddin, Nurul Afifah Bujang, Nana Maryana Tengah, Nur Hasanah Awg Abdul Harith and Wasimatul Sabirah Haji Harsan.

Here's what our first batch of apprentices had to say about their experience in the programme:

Fatin Atiyah Haji Suharafadzil
One of the biggest lessons this experience has taught me is that the working environment is nothing like university. No matter how much my time in university has prepped me for the working life, it’s still a lot different to experience it myself! I always remind myself to be professional at work but ensure that I allocate time for rest too.

Good communication skills is also essential, and I always remember to ask questions whenever I’m unsure, and there will always be people willing to help you, because it’s better to ask questions rather than to struggle and do the task incorrectly.

Wasimatul Sabirah Haji Harsan
I learnt to become more adaptable to different situations, to be open-minded with things that are new or out of my comfort zone and I especially learned to be more confident in bouncing back from mistakes I’ve made at work. Everyone makes mistakes, but what’s important is to learn from them.

GAP has also made me work on my problem-solving skills. One of my fondest memories with the other apprentices was how we donated blood together at Jabatan Bomba when we were looking for inspiration for our own blood donation drive. We even donated during the event itself! It really helped to prepare us for our own events and a good bonding activity.

Hasanah Awang Abdul Harith
One of the most important lessons this programme has taught me is to not let my fear of failure stop me from trying. My experience here constantly reminds me that not everything will go according to plan, and I just need to trust the process – which are good lessons to bring into the working world!

Durrah Nadheerah Idris
I remember when we had to work on two staff activities in the span of just a couple of weeks – the annual blood donation drive and a paintball tournament, and it really tested our time management skills. We did such a great job as a team though, especially with such a tight and demanding timeline, and it was great to be included in the various fun activities the Bank offers for its staff.
