Here's what our fourth batch of apprentices had to say about their experience in the programme:
Joining the Graduate Apprenticeship Programme (GAP) and working in the fast-paced banking sector has been a truly transformative experience. It allowed me to develop a wide range of new skills while refining those I had already acquired, enriching both my professional and personal life. Collaborating with a diverse team provided valuable new perspectives, helping me better understand and approach tasks with a broader mindset.
One of the challenges I faced during GAP was balancing time between my work responsibilities and organising GAP-led events. This experience taught me to think quickly, assess risks, and place trust in my team. GAP is an incredible opportunity for anyone willing to learn and eager to discover their potential—it’s a journey of growth, teamwork, and self-discovery!
The Graduate Apprenticeship Programme (GAP) serves as an excellent starting point for graduates who are looking to pursue a career in the banking industry or for those simply looking to challenge themselves outside of their comfort zone. In the short 6 months, I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about the banking industry as a whole and how everything is interconnected.
Fully immersed in the programme, I learned a lot about myself and discovered capabilities I never knew I possessed. The dynamic environment pushed me to develop crucial skills in time management, problem-solving, and adaptability. Working alongside experienced professionals and fellow apprentices from diverse backgrounds has broadened my perspective and enhanced my understanding of the banking sector.
As a fresh graduate, transitioning from university to the professional world felt both exciting and overwhelming. The Graduate Apprenticeship Programme (GAP) provided the perfect bridge, offering a structured and supportive environment that built my confidence and clarified my career aspirations. Through its experiential learning component, I gained valuable new knowledge while enhancing the foundation I had developed during my studies.
GAP broadened my perspective and introduced me to career paths I hadn’t considered before. It’s an excellent platform for fresh graduates to grow personally and professionally, offering the right balance of challenge and support to prepare for future success.
