  • Brunei Citizens & Permanent Residents
  • Graduates of the last 3 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree from any discipline
  • No prior work experience
  • Well-rounded individual with diverse interests and talents
  • Adaptable, committed and enthusiastic to learn

Every single experience you’ll have during the programme is a valuable lesson. It pushed us to work together on multiple projects, which really tested our communication, time management and leadership skills.

I’ve learnt to come out of my shell and put myself out there more. As a shy person this is something that I have struggled with and I’m grateful to have been placed in a department that is supportive and encourages me to grow and develop myself. The Graduate Apprenticeship Programme (GAP) is a great experience for fresh graduates who need that extra push to prepare themselves for working life.

GAP exceeded my expectations. The huge shift between a classroom setting to experiential learning kept us on our feet and prepared us to take on more challenging tasks. As a result, my ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and acknowledge mistakes and learn from them has developed.

Being able to connect and network with experts from different departments, I’ve learnt you cannot limit yourself and need to go outside your comfort zone. Fresh graduates who are looking to venture into the corporate life should apply for the programme, as it allows you to develop your knowledge and appreciate different perspectives, both of which will be beneficial to your career development.

The most challenging aspects of GAP were adapting to new environments and juggling lots of different tasks and projects that were assigned to me during the apprenticeship. However, it also highlighted the importance of embracing new ideas and stepping out of my comfort zone. It taught me that being open-minded might lead to opportunities that I would have otherwise overlooked.

It’s a great way to start your career, as it exposes you to a variety of roles in the banking industry and gives you a chance to try something you would never have thought of doing as a career. There aren’t many opportunities like GAP elsewhere.

During GAP, I had the pleasure of being mentored by individuals that are smart, skilled, and experienced. I got to explore the ins and outs of the banking and finance world and build connections with people from various backgrounds and fields of expertise. I learnt the importance of finding balance in the workplace and being able to prioritise assignments through a method my colleague shared with me called timeboxing.

I would highly recommend GAP to anyone who has a passion for learning new things, as everyone at Baiduri will happily share their knowledge. It’s an experience that cannot be found anywhere else in Brunei.

    1. What can I expect from this programme? 

    It is a 6-month intensive classroom and on-the-job learning programme where you will be rotated between different departments for banking exposure.

    2. What happens after the programme? Will I be offered a permanent job?

    You may apply for available vacancies within the Bank Group after completing the programme.  

    3. I used to work part time at various companies and position. Can I still apply?

    This programme is designed specifically for recent graduates with no prior work experience. You may, however, still apply, subject to our selection process.

    4. Do I get paid during the apprenticeship programme?

    6. How will I be notified if I am shortlisted for selection?

    You will be notified via email. Please be sure to check your email.

    7. Do I get to choose which department I will be rotated to?

    The programme is designed for apprentices to gain a holistic working experience in banking through the identified key departments.

    8. Am I obligated to complete the entire programme? What if I receive a full-time job offer from another company before the programme ends?

    There is no obligation to complete the 6-month programme but it is strongly encouraged. You will be required to serve notice as stipulated before leaving the programme.

We would like to inform you that with effect from 31 October 2023, Business i-Banking service will no longer be operational, and this will be replaced with our new Baiduri b.Digital Business service.

If your company has not transitioned to b.Digital Business, please ensure that every existing user provides the following by 8 October 2023 through the Business i-Banking Inbox:
  • User’s full name
  • User’s valid Identification Card (IC) or Passport
  • User’s mobile number
  • User's company assigned email address (General company email is not accepted e.g., [email protected])

Alternatively, you can complete the b.Digital Business Amendment Form and submit the form(s) directly to Baiduri Digital Hub, Ground Level, Baiduri Bank Headquarters.

Every user will receive a notification email at their registered email address, once they have been migrated and activated on the b.Digital Business service.

Companies who have not moved to b.Digital Business after 31 October 2023 can re-apply as a new subscriber to the b.Digital Business service. This will require additional documentations to be submitted as part of the application. Refer “Required Documents” here.

Important notice: Our Business i-Banking service will be deactivated soon. To ensure continued access and a smooth transition to the new Baiduri b.Digital Business, please provide your full name, IC, email address and mobile number via Business i-Banking Inbox. If we do not receive updated details from all authorised users, your company will not be migrated to the new platform and a fresh application will be required.
