A year of purposeful progress
31 December 2025

2025 marked continued progress in strengthening Baiduri Bank Bank’s foundations, advancing our regional ambitions, and elevating the way we serve customers and communities. Since our establishment in 1994, we have grown into Brunei’s largest conventional banking institution and a trusted partner for individuals, businesses, and communities, supporting the nation’s digital transformation and economic diversification under Wawasan Brunei 2035.

Growth and innovation

The year brought significant advances across the Bank’s strategic priorities, particularly in expanding our regional presence and enhancing the banking experience at home. The opening of the Baiduri Bank Representative Office, Singapore in May marked a key step in deepening Brunei’s connectivity with ASEAN’s financial ecosystem. Located at Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 2, the office enhances engagement with counterparty banks and financial institutions and serves as a platform to promote Brunei-linked opportunities.
Domestically, the launch of the Financial Wellness Centre (FWC) - the first of its kind in Brunei - in September strengthened our commitment to financial inclusion. The Centre provides personalised guidance, self-assessment tools, and financial education resources that support the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) and National Financial Literacy Coucil’s (NFLC) goals of building a more financially resilient society.

Embedding sustainability

Sustainability remained central to our transformation, guided by the Baiduri Greenprint framework. A key milestone was our admission as a full member of the United Nations Global Compact in December 2024, an achievement formally commemorated in 2025 that reflects alignment with global sustainability principles.
We also advanced Brunei’s energy transition as sole financier of the nation’s first large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant - a 30-megawatt facility in Kampong Belimbing set to generate over 64,000 megawatt-hours annually and reduce an estimated 41,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

Beyond financing, we supported national sustainability awareness through initiatives such as the Energy Efficiency Workshop with the Department of Energy and Brunei Climate Change Office. The fourth edition of the Baiduri Lokal Market continued to spotlight textile waste reduction, circular practices, and support for micro and small enterprises.

Strengthening communities

Community development remained a defining priority for the Baiduri Bank Group, supported by Baiduri Cares, an internal programme where employees are encouraged to give back through volunteerism and direct involvement in community initiatives.

Baiduri Cares volunteers were central to initiatives such as Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan and the Baiduri Masters, which raised BND82,000 for five charitable organisations. The Group also deepened its humanitarian partnerships through a new MoU with the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society, supporting volunteer mobilisation and emergency relief capabilities.

Driving economic impact

We continued to support Brunei’s economic development through platforms that enhance understanding of emerging trends and strengthen enterprise growth. Our flagship thought leadership event, the Baiduri Momentum Summit 2025, convened regional experts to explore the implications of rising protectionism, shifting trade alliances, and the accelerating energy transition.

Our support for entrepreneurs continued through the 18th MSME Empowerment Series, which provided practical tools, capacity-building resources, and advisory support to help Bruneian MSMEs grow sustainably.

Strategic partnerships

Strategic collaborations remained key in enhancing customer experiences and building long-term capabilities. Partnerships with UnionPay and Royal Brunei expanded payment and lifestyle offerings, while MoUs with Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Microsoft advanced our efforts to develop competencies in artificial intelligence, data analytics, automation, and risk management.

Empowering our workforce

Developing a future-ready workforce continued as a priority. Leadership excellence was strengthened through the annual Leadership Forum, the Leadership Academy, and the Emerging Leaders Mentorship Programme. Employee wellbeing was further supported through the Employee Wellness Initiative, promoting physical, mental, spiritual, and financial health.

Our Annual Employee Experience Survey recorded a 79% engagement rate, surpassing global (71%) and Asia-Pacific (67%) benchmarks and contributing to the Bank receiving the Brunei Employee Engagement of the Year Award 2025 at the Asian Management Excellence Awards.

Looking ahead: Grow with us

As we move into 2026, we will continue strengthening capabilities across people, processes, and technology while supporting Brunei’s long-term economic and digital aspirations. Our focus remains on driving sustainable growth, enhancing operational resilience, and delivering long-term value for customers, employees, and the communities we serve.

Thank you for your trust and partnership. Together, we will continue to grow with purpose and confidence.
