BAIDURI BANK ADVANCES MSME CAPABILITY BUILDING WITH 19TH MSME EMPOWERMENT SERIES
12 February 2026

Baiduri Bank successfully concluded the 19th instalment of its MSME Empowerment Series, held in conjunction with and in support of the Brunei Startup Summit 2026 organised by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB). The session marks another milestone in the Bank’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Brunei’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through practical capability-building and collaboration.

The latest edition brought together around 30 local business owners and ecosystem enablers for a focused, hands-on workshop designed to strengthen ecosystem readiness and cross-sector collaboration. Titled “Building Ecosystem Players”, the two-hour session explored how businesses can better position themselves within broader ecosystems to support sustainable growth and regional expansion.

The workshop was facilitated by Tanakrit “Kasper” Sermsuksan, Founder and Chairman of SEA Bridge, who shared regional perspectives and practical frameworks drawn from his experience supporting businesses across Southeast Asia. Participants were introduced to structured approaches for assessing ecosystem readiness, including financial, human, social, and environmental dimensions, and were guided through self-evaluation and group consultation exercises to help identify clear priorities and next steps.

Commenting on the session, Ti Eng Hui, Chief Executive Officer of Baiduri Bank, said:
“Supporting MSMEs is central to building a resilient and diversified economy. Through the MSME Empowerment Series, we aim to help local business owners strengthen their capabilities, build meaningful connections, and take practical steps towards sustainable growth in an increasingly dynamic environment.”

Now in its 19th edition, the MSME Empowerment Series has continued to evolve in both breadth and depth, covering topics ranging from brand strategy and market entry to ecosystem development and regional expansion. Through these engagements, the Series has become a trusted platform for local enterprises to gain practical insights, exchange perspectives, and connect with experts and peers.
