BAIDURI BANK CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION OF BAIDURI SANTAI SAHUR
08 April 2024

Baiduri Bank proudly announces the successful culmination of Baiduri Santai Sahur, a four-week community event that took place throughout the month of Ramadan. Held every Saturday night at the Multi-storey Carpark and Baiduri South Lawn at Baiduri Bank Headquarters, these events have significantly contributed to fostering local entrepreneurship and community togetherness.

In collaboration with Saucysside and the Gang, Baiduri Santai Sahur successfully hosted 25 food and beverage vendors, providing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with a platform to showcase and sell their products. By embracing cashless transactions and encouraging the use of reusable containers, the event has laid the foundation for a sustainable and digitally enabled business model, aligning perfectly with our goals of economic development and environmental sustainability. Vendors were encouraged to utilise alternative, eco-friendly packaging options, such as biodegradable or reusable containers, plates, and cutlery, promoting environmental responsibility within the community. Through strategic partnerships with Kawan Bumi and Shaliz Waste Recycling Sdn Bhd, approximately 100kg of paper, 40kg of plastic, 30kg of aluminium, and 2 gallons of used cooking oil were collected.

During the Baiduri Santai Sahur event, 25 customers received BND10 lucky draw vouchers for utilising cashless payment methods, including Baiduri cards, debit cards, and QPay. The introduction of cashless payments and the distribution of BND10 vouchers to attendees who opted for this mode of transaction not only simplified the purchasing process but also highlighted the convenience and efficiency of embracing modern payment solutions.

Reflecting on the event's success, Mohd Isa Liew Mohd Amin Liew, Head of Business Banking at Baiduri Bank, stated, "The overwhelming positive response to Baiduri Santai Sahur demonstrates the strength of community engagement and the potential of sustainable, digitally enabled business practices. As we conclude this series, we are reminded of our commitment to the Bruneian business community, reinforcing our dedication to fostering a resilient and innovative business ecosystem."

He added, " We are inspired by the collective effort of everyone involved and look forward to continuing to accelerate the growth of local entrepreneurs, encouraging sustainable choices and digital advancements."

As Baiduri Santai Sahur comes to an end, Baiduri Bank remains committed to supporting the community and local businesses, reinforcing the bank's role as a catalyst for positive change and innovation.
