Baiduri Bank concluded its annual ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’ initiative with a shopping and sungkai event with families from the Brunei-Muara district on Wednesday, 19 April 2023.
Now in its seventh year, the ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’ initiative is part of Baiduri Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting the community and promoting social responsibility in the country.
The event took place at Hua Ho, Yayasan, where volunteers from Baiduri Bank arranged a shopping activity for 20 underprivileged families from Brunei-Muara.
The families were identified through the Ministry of Education. The Bank also partnered with Setia Motors as the logistics partner for the event.
Present to shop with the volunteers was Ti Eng Hui, CEO of Baiduri Bank, who spoke about the importance of giving back to the community through Group wide initiatives like ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’.
He said: “This month of Ramadhan is a time of reflection and giving back. We believe in giving back to the community and supporting those in need. Through our initiatives and partnerships, we are committed to using our resources to make a positive impact in their lives and help contribute to these families with some Raya necessities and instill joy in celebrating the upcoming festivities.”
Also attending the event was Pg Azaleen PD Hj Mustapha, Deputy CEO for Business Development, Veronica Chong, Head of Group Human Resources and Administration, Ak Nor Muhammad Nizam Pg Hj Tengah, Head of Group Treasury and Institutional Banking, Lim Kian Chiong, Head of Retail Banking, Yvonne Chan, Head of Group Asset Recovery Management, and Stephen Nelson, Head of Internal Audit.
James Chin, General Manager of Setia Motors said, “Setia Motors would like to thank Baiduri Bank for this opportunity to be the logistics partner of this event this year. Giving back is an initiative that we do try get involved with yearly. What counts in life the most is the difference we have made to the lives of others. This is something that we try to enforce in our daily lives.”
Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan is part of a broader effort by Baiduri Bank to support the community through various initiatives, including financial health, entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability.
The event concluded with iftar at Tarindak D’Seni with the families, senior members of management from Baiduri Bank and Setia Motors.
