Baiduri Bank hosted an Open Day for its Graduate Apprenticeship Programme (GAP) Cycle 6 at the Baiduri Bank Headquarters, engaging recent graduates and offering insights into career pathways within Baiduri Bank Group.
The session brought together representatives from Group Human Resources and the Bank’s Branch Network, who engaged directly with attendees and shared practical insights into the Bank’s working environment, expectations for apprentices, and how different roles contribute to the organisation.
The Open Day featured a series of engagement sessions, including an overview of the GAP programme, its structure, learning journey and opportunities available to participants. Attendees also heard firsthand from GAP alumni, who shared their experiences and how the programme supported their transition from academic study into the workplace, offering a practical perspective on building a career within the Bank.
GAP is a six month programme that gives recent graduates the opportunity to build real world experience alongside practical skills, helping them take the next step into the workforce. Apprentices gain exposure across different parts of the Bank, including a structured rotation through the branch network in the first half of the programme, where they develop hands on experience in customer service and banking operations. This is complemented by exposure to other functional areas, providing a broader understanding of the Bank while building skills in communication, problem solving and teamwork.
Reflecting on the session, Veronica Chong, Head of Group Human Resources and Administration said: “It was a good chance for graduates to get a clearer picture of what the programme is really like. More importantly, we could have proper conversations with them, answer their questions, and help them see how they might fit in and grow here.”
The programme reflects Baiduri Bank’s ongoing efforts to support local talent by creating opportunities that bridge academic learning with real world experience, while helping young graduates build their skills and grow within Brunei’s workforce.
Applications for GAP Cycle 6 are open from 23 May to 1 June 2026 via Baiduri Bank’s
job portal. Interested applicants are advised to prepare their cover letter, curriculum vitae, identity card and highest educational certificates as part of their submission
