Baiduri Bank’s Employee Wellness Initiative (EWI), in collaboration with The Culinary School by Laksamana College of Business (LCB), the Ministry of Health (MOH), and Jabatan Pembangunan Masyarakat (JAPEM), recently organised the latest edition of its ‘Buat & Bagi’ initiative, continuing a meaningful tradition of preparing and distributing meals to communities across Brunei during the month of Ramadhan.
Now in its fifth year, the initiative continues as an employee-driven effort supported through voluntary contributions from Baiduri Bank employees. What began as a simple act of kindness has evolved into a meaningful annual programme that reflects the Bank’s commitment to giving back and supporting the wellbeing of the community.
Through the collaborative efforts of 60 Baiduri Bank volunteers, together with chefs and students from The Culinary School, a total of 600 nutritious meals were prepared, packed and distributed over four days.
As part of the initiative, Baiduri Bank’s Wellness Ambassadors delivered 200 meals to patients and frontline staff at RIPAS Hospital, including those in the Psychiatry, Paediatric and Emergency Departments, as well as to Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital, Tutong. The gesture aimed to support patients and families observing Ramadhan while also recognising the dedication of healthcare professionals serving the nation.
In addition, 400 meals were distributed to the wider community, reaching residents and staff of JAPEM’s Kompleks Rumah Kebajikan and Pusat Bahagia, as well as several mosques nationwide, including Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque, Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque and Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque.
Through initiatives such as ‘Buat & Bagi’, Baiduri Bank continues to encourage employees to contribute meaningfully to the community while fostering a spirit of compassion, solidarity and shared responsibility during the holy month of Ramadhan.
