Baiduri Bank is bringing back its Bisaitah Recycle initiative for 2026, following a strong public response last year that saw over 153 kilogrammes of used festive packets collected, recycled and diverted from landfills.
Running from May to July 2026, the initiative encourages members of the public to recycle used or old festive packets by dropping them into designated collection bins at selected Baiduri Bank branches during opening hours. This year, the campaign has been expanded to six locations, making participation more accessible to communities across Brunei Darussalam.
For Bisaitah Recycle 2026, collection points have been extended to Baiduri Bank branches in Serusop, Amber Hills, Tutong and Kuala Belait, as well as Baiduri Finance Sumbangsih and the Baiduri Bank Headquarters.
The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Kawan Bumi, a local recycling partner that will conduct collection and recycling pick ups every two weeks throughout the campaign period, ensuring the proper handling and recycling of collected material.
Commenting on the initiative, Manuel Bulens, Deputy CEO, Consumer Banking, and Chairman of Baiduri Bank’s Sustainability Committee, said: “What really encouraged us was seeing how positively people responded last year. More than 150 kilogrammes of festive packets were recycled, which shows that small, simple actions can add up when the community comes together. By expanding the initiative this year and working closely with partners, we are hoping to make it even easier for the public to take part and do something good for the environment.”
Bisaitah Recycle reflects Baiduri Bank’s broader sustainability strategy, anchored in the three pillars of People, Process and Planet. The initiative promotes responsible waste management while encouraging community participation and more mindful festive practices. It also forms part of the Bank’s CSR efforts under the Environment pillar, supporting a long term approach to environmental stewardship and waste reduction.
By extending the campaign beyond the festive period and increasing the number of collection points, Baiduri Bank continues to make recycling more convenient and accessible, reinforcing the idea that small, collective actions can contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes.
Members of the public are invited to support this initiative by dropping off their used festive packets at participating branches during operating hours.
