In reaching another milestone, Baiduri Bank received the Gold Award for the ‘Most Innovative and Sustainable Office Design’ for its headquarters at 1 Jalan Gadong in the Employee Experience Awards 2021 by Human Resources Online, Singapore. The virtual award ceremony was held on 18 June 2021. American Express International and Prudential Assurance Company Singapore took home the Silver and Bronze Awards for this category respectively.
The pan-Asia Employee Experience Awards recognise and honour the role and commitment of Human Resources (HR) in workplace transformation and providing a safe and encouraging work environment. The key focus of the awards is rooted in the three pillars of creating and maintaining a positive employee experience, leadership and learning, and employee engagement. Aimed at celebrating Asia’s talented HR professionals, this is the region’s only peer-reviewed HR awards focused on bringing to light the various pillars of the employee experience.
Speaking on the award, Mr. Ti Eng Hui, CEO of Baiduri Bank said that it was a step in the right direction for one of the Bank’s strategic goals of becoming the most preferred employer in Brunei.
He said: “Today’s younger generation in the workforce want to be part of forward-looking organisations that understand the strong impact a conducive and vibrant workspace can have on talent attraction, retention and employee productivity. They also have a preference for eco-friendly, sustainable and ergonomic workspaces that will encourage them to perform, collaborate, and thrive.”
He added: “The journey of owning our very own headquarters has been a significant one, and it was a major milestone for the Bank when we opened it to the public. For it to now be recognised at a regional level is a validation for all our people, who have worked so hard and done so much to build an office culture they can be proud of.”
On top of the award, the Bank was also a finalist in two other categories in the Employee Experience Awards 2021 – Best Learning and Development Programme and Best Employee Wellness Strategy.
This year, the awards were judged by a panel that included senior HR professionals from brands such as Adidas, BHG Singapore, Boston Scientific Asia Pacific, Estée Lauder Travel Retailing, Gojek, Kimberly Clark Asia Pacific, Millennium Hotels & Resorts, UOB, Prudential Singapore, Mastercard and more.
