YOU ARE IN PERSONAL BANKING
Bandar Seri Begawan, 19 May 2020 – In the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the first two events of the annual ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’ series saw Baiduri Bank hand over donations to a total of 30 underprivileged families in the Temburong and the Brunei-Muara Districts today.
The families were identified through the Department of Community Development (JAPEM), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
In the morning, a handover of donations was held at StoneVille Hotel in Bangar Town, Temburong. Presenting the cash donation to the recipients was Ms Dorothy Newn, Head of Group Corporate Communications Department.
“Our Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan event is hoped to bring some joy and immediate relief for these selected families, especially in this trying time of COVID-19. With Hari Raya just around the corner, we hope that this cash donation can help these families prepare for the upcoming festivities.”
Speaking on the different format of the event from previous years, Ms Newn said, “For past years, our Ramadhan event comprised of a group shopping activity as well as a breaking of the fast, but in observing the guidelines as set out by the Ministry of Health, the ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’ this time has been simplified for the health and safety of everyone involved.”
A handover of donations in the form of shopping vouchers was held at Baiduri Bank’s Kiarong branch for recipients in the Brunei-Muara district in the afternoon. Presenting the donation to the recipients was Mr Evan Wong, Branch Manager for Baiduri Bank, Kiarong branch.
The ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’ series aims to provide relief for selected underprivileged families in the four districts by donating cash or shopping vouchers in preparation for Hari Raya. The next two events will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 20 May 2020 for the Tutong and Belait district respectively.
