BAIDURI BANK LAUNCHES RAYA PACKETS RECYCLING DRIVE
16 April 2024

Baiduri Bank is proud to announce the launch of its Raya packets recycling drive, Bisaitah Recycle, an initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and reducing waste during the festive season. This drive is aligned with our environmental CSR efforts, aimed at mitigating the environmental impact of our business activities by promoting zero waste, supporting green causes and businesses, and enhancing awareness of climate issues.

Members of the public are encouraged to join us in this green initiative by dropping off their used or old Raya packets into designated collection bins at selected Baiduri Bank branches below during banking hours:

Brunei Muara District

Main Branch, Serusop Branch

Tutong District

Tutong Branch

Belait District

Kuala Belait Branch

The recycling bins will be available at the above locations until 30 May 2024.

Reflecting on the importance of this initiative, Ti Eng Hui, CEO of Baiduri Bank, stated, "This recycling drive is not just about reducing waste; it's about embodying our promise to minimise the damaging effects of our business on the environment. By encouraging the recycling of Raya packets, we aim to promote a zero-waste culture, support green initiatives, and elevate public consciousness about waste management. It's a testament to our ongoing efforts to foster a sustainable future. We invite everyone to participate in this noble cause."

The tradition of giving and receiving Raya packets is deeply ingrained in our culture, yet it can also present a significant environmental challenge due to the waste generated. This initiative hopes to address that challenge by ensuring these packets are recycled instead of contributing to landfill waste, highlighting the potential of recycling to make a positive impact on our planet.

Through this recycling drive, Baiduri Bank not only reaffirms its dedication to environmental sustainability but also aims to inspire a shift towards more responsible waste management practices within the community.
