BAIDURI BANK MAKES STRATEGIC INVESTMENT IN MOVE TO CLOUD BANKING

Baiduri Bank signed an agreement today with Temenos, the world’s leading open platform for composable banking, for running its core banking services on a SaaS platform in the cloud. With this move, Baiduri Bank will be the first bank in Brunei to operate its core banking platform in the cloud under the SaaS model.

The signing event took place at the Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore. Signing on behalf of the Bank was its Chief Executive Officer, Ti Eng Hui, while Craig Bennett, Managing Director, APAC signed on behalf of Temenos. The event was also attended by senior executives from both companies as well as Temenos implementation partner Tech Mahindra, a leading provider of digital transformation, consulting, and business re-engineering services and solutions.

As a front runner in delivering digital-first experiences, Baiduri Bank offers a comprehensive suite of digital solutions including its award-winning mobile banking app, Baiduri b.Digital Personal and dedicated business digital internet banking service, Baiduri b.Digital Business. The Bank has also been adopting modern technologies including artificial intelligence, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and new microservices to help automate existing workflows.

New cloud solutions use data and applied analytics to enhance digital customer experiences, improve back-office efficiency, reduce risk and support innovation.

Replacing legacy systems with Temenos modern SaaS platform will enable Baiduri Bank to offer superior customer propositions with personalised offerings at a fraction of the time and cost. The bank will adopt Temenos banking services for core banking, data analytics and financial crime mitigation (FCM) to support its retail and corporate banking, finance and wealth management operations.

Temenos Banking Cloud allows Baiduri Bank to progressively renovate its IT landscape using a composable banking approach to deploy new services faster, more cost-effectively, at scale. This can result in increased customer insights, improved efficiency, enhanced innovation, greater agility, and a reduced risk of security or business continuity breaches.

In future, Baiduri Bank has ambitions to extend its offering beyond banking and will leverage Temenos open and composable architecture to include other value-added services that complement the lifestyle needs of the modern consumers.

19 September 2023

We would like to inform you that with effect from 31 October 2023, Business i-Banking service will no longer be operational, and this will be replaced with our new Baiduri b.Digital Business service.

If your company has not transitioned to b.Digital Business, please ensure that every existing user provides the following by 8 October 2023 through the Business i-Banking Inbox:
  • User’s full name
  • User’s valid Identification Card (IC) or Passport
  • User’s mobile number
  • User's company assigned email address (General company email is not accepted e.g., [email protected])

Alternatively, you can complete the b.Digital Business Amendment Form and submit the form(s) directly to Baiduri Digital Hub, Ground Level, Baiduri Bank Headquarters.

Every user will receive a notification email at their registered email address, once they have been migrated and activated on the b.Digital Business service.

Companies who have not moved to b.Digital Business after 31 October 2023 can re-apply as a new subscriber to the b.Digital Business service. This will require additional documentations to be submitted as part of the application. Refer “Required Documents” here.

Important notice: Our Business i-Banking service will be deactivated soon. To ensure continued access and a smooth transition to the new Baiduri b.Digital Business, please provide your full name, IC, email address and mobile number via Business i-Banking Inbox. If we do not receive updated details from all authorised users, your company will not be migrated to the new platform and a fresh application will be required. To strengthen our online security measures, effective 8 January 2024, we will introduce the cooling period feature on our Baiduri b.Digital Personal web and mobile app to prevent unauthorised access.
