BAIDURI BANK PARTNERS WITH MKM BRUNEI AND DART FOR ITS ANNUAL ‘LET’S GIVE BACK THIS RAMADHAN’ STARTING WITH TEMBURONG FAMILIES
19 April 2021

Bandar Seri Begawan, 19 April 2021 – Today, Baiduri Bank organised a shopping activity and iftar (breaking of the fast) with ten underprivileged families from the Temburong district through its annual CSR initiative, Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan. This initiative aims to provide relief for selected underprivileged families in the four districts by taking them shopping for household and basic necessities in preparation for Hari Raya.

The families in the Temburong district were identified through Majlis Kesejahteraan Masyarakat (MKM) Brunei, a non-profit organisation established to address social issues in Brunei by providing assistance to improve the welfare of the vulnerable in the country.

As part of the Bank’s pledge to co-create with the community, this year’s ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’ series witnesses partnership with not just MKM Brunei, but also with Dart Logistics, Brunei’s No.1 ride hailing booking service, with the aim to support local entrepreneurship and business.

The first of the four events was held at Hua Ho, One City today.

Mr Manuel Bulens, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Compliance, Corporate Governance and Legal Advisory), Baiduri Bank said, “We hope that these events are able to lighten the burden for the underprivileged families and bring some relief, especially with the upcoming Hari Raya festivities.” He further elaborated that this effort is in line with the Bank’s mission to enrich, empower and engage the communities it serves.

Keeran Dato Janin, Founder and Interim CEO, Dart Brunei, said: “We are delighted to be a part of Baiduri’s generous initiative that gives back to the community, helps the underprivileged families and supports our local Bruneian Dart drivers.”

The event concluded with iftar at All Season’s Restaurant, One City for the families, members of the media and Baiduri Bank volunteers.

The next event will be held at Kuala Belait on Thursday, 22 April 2021.
