Baiduri Bank have partnered with the Ministry of Health (MOH) for their BN on the Move corporate challenge, announcing the BruHealth app update during their Wellness Open Day at the Baiduri Community Space earlier this week.
“We are proud to be the first company to collaborate with MOH for the BN on the Move corporate challenge,” said Chiam Chin Huei, Deputy Head of Group Human Resources, Baiduri Bank.
“We understand people will often overlook their health and well-being due to the demands of work. We want to encourage our employees to monitor and prioritise their wellness by providing them with as many tools and resources as we can through partnerships with industry experts.”
As one of several activities under the BN on the Move corporate challenge, the Bank’s Employee Wellness Initiative (EWI) ‘100 Day Wellness Challenge’ started on 9 October 2023 and will run through to 19 January 2024.
Over 170 participants have registered for the EWI challenge that is set to feature a series of activities covering the four dimensions of wellness – mental, physical, spiritual, and financial. They will include fitness classes, mindfulness workshops and healthy eating resources, as well as friendly competitions and challenges to motivate staff.
Participants are expected to attend at least one activity during the EWI challenge, while the BN on the Move corporate challenge is mandatory for all involved. A collective goal of 60 million steps has been set and will also count towards the nationwide ’80 Billion Steps Together’ campaign.
All employees who have registered for the campaign can earn BruPoints, which can be spent in-app at the BruPoints Mall to purchase vouchers and other redeemable prizes.
Dr Siti Rosemawati Hj Md Yusof, Acting Head of Health Promotion Centre welcomed this partnership. She noted that, “the links between employee health and workplace productivity are well documented. The new corporate challenge launched as part of the BN on the Move campaign is one way for organisations to support a healthy workforce and we view this as an important aspect to our whole of society approach to improving health and wellbeing in Brunei Darussalam.”
The EWI Wellness Open Day also included a health screening by MOH for staff, wellness talks by Health Promotion Centre and Fuel Brunei in the afternoon and concluded with a variety of fitness activities and games on the South Lawn of the Bank’s Headquarters.
