BAIDURI BANK WORKS WITH MINDEF TO PREPARE ARMY PERSONNEL FOR RETIREMENT
25 June 2021

To help prepare army personnel currently undergoing their mandatory pre-retirement course at the Ministry of Defence, Baiduri Bank held a special financial planning talk at the Performance Optimisation Centre in Bolkiah Garrison on Friday, 25 June 2021.

The talk, titled “Money Matters and Lifestyle Goals”, was delivered by Siti Aminah binti Hj Abd Rahman, Manager, Wealth Management and Bancassurance, Baiduri Bank, and saw some 50 officers from the ministry learn how to plan for their futures and remain financially independent after they have completed their service to the ministry and the nation.

The talk covered topics that included what to expect during retirement, how to manage their finances while in this new phase of life, as well as a comprehensive look at the Bank’s wide array of financial products and services that could help them remain financially independent.

Financial planning talks such as these hope to safeguard the financial future of its recipients by inculcating better financial habits and help them make well-informed financial decisions. Licensed financial planners from the Bank were also on hand to offer financial health checks and recommendations based on each person’s financial aspirations.

Mr Lim Kian Chiong, Head of Retail Banking said that through outreach efforts such as these, the Bank can reach out to a wider audience through a more interactive and personal platform, to learn more about their financial goals and aspirations.

He said: “Financial talks like these are an opportunity for the Bank to engage and work with our various stakeholders, from customers, business partners and the local community who are at various stages of their lives – in this case, civil servants who have worked hard and will be retiring shortly. Through our refreshed brand promise of “Co-creating your future” we want to work with our stakeholders to better understand their financial goals and help them achieve it.”

Baiduri Bank offers an array of financial products and investment options to suit the needs and lifestyle of its clients. On top of that, the Bank also regularly hosts investment seminars featuring experts and financial analysts from the region to cover topics such as financial health and investment strategies as well as market outlooks.

The Bank also has a growing team of specially trained financial planners, who are available at its branches across the country to provide financial consultation, conduct gap analysis, risk profile analysis and more, in order to determine which investment products are best for its clients.
