The second instalment of Baiduri Bank’s Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan 9 continued today, with eight families enjoying an afternoon of shopping at Hua Ho Petani Mall and iftar in the evening.
Our strategic partner, the Council for the Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU), identified the families.
There are currently nine non-governmental organisations (NGOs) under the MKOKU – Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, The Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA), Paraplegic and Physically Handicapped Association (PAPDA), Society for Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER Brunei), Down Syndrome Association (ABLE), Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD), Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB), National Association for the Hearing-Impaired (OKP) and Learning Ladders Society (LLS).
Present at the event from Baiduri Bank’s management committee was Ak Nor Muhammad Nizam Pg Haji Tengah, Head of Institutional Banking and Lim Kian Chiong, Head of Retail Banking.
Speaking about the initiative, Ak Nor Muhammad Nizam Pg Haji Tengah said: “As we observe Ramadhan, we appreciate how important it is to come together with family and loved ones. Through Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan, we’re not just providing support—we’re creating moments for families to share, connect, and experience the true spirit of the season.”
Returning as lead logistics partner was Indera Motors, who played a key role in providing transportation for the families, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.
As in previous years, the initiative is supported by volunteers from Baiduri Cares, an internal programme that enables employees from Baiduri Bank and its sister companies – Baiduri Finance and Baiduri Capital – to contribute their time and energy to community-focused activities.
Since its inception, Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan has grown into one of Baiduri Bank’s most impactful CSR initiatives, bringing together employees, community organisations, and corporate partners to uplift communities during the fasting month.
The next event will take place on 19 March for families from Temburong and Brunei-Muara, with the final instalment set to take place a week later for families from Brunei-Muara.
