The ceremonial tee-off was led by Pengiran Azaleen Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Group Treasury and Institutional Banking of Baiduri Bank and President of the Baiduri Masters, alongside Colonel (B) Zahrin bin Haji Zunaidi, Chairman of Pantai Mentiri Golf Club. The launch was witnessed by members of the PMGC Executive Committee, tournament officials, and early morning players as the first flight took to the course under clear skies.

Now in its 27th edition, the Baiduri Masters continues to rally Brunei’s golfing community in support of charitable initiatives. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will go towards five local organisations - SMARTER Brunei, the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BNAB), La Vida Berhad, Learning Ladders Society, and the Child Development Centre (CDC) - as part of Baiduri Bank’s broader commitment to enriching, empowering and engaging the communities it serves.

As the competition got underway, early scores began to roll in, with standout performances quickly setting the tone for what’s expected to be another tightly contested edition of the tournament.

Leading the Day One leaderboard was Bryan Chiew, who carded an impressive gross score of 66, six under par. He was followed by Suhaimi Ibrahim at 70, and Fauzi Haji Timbang at 76, with a close field trailing behind in the 70s and 80s.

Registration for the Baiduri Masters 2025 is still open. Players can sign up for a flat rate of BND120 for the Men’s, Ladies’, and Senior’s categories, and BND60 for the Junior category.
