THE BAIDURI MASTERS 2025 – DAY THREE UPDATES
03 August 2025

Momentum is building at Pantai Mentiri Golf Club (PMGC) as the Baiduri Masters 2025 edges past the halfway mark. With three days of play in the books and three more to go, competition is tightening.

Bryan Chiew remains the man to catch, holding onto his spot at the top with a gross 66. AK Md Syakir Pg Hj Alli is close behind at 69, followed by Suhaimi Ibrahim at 70. With scores still closely packed, Mahendra Phagami and Mitchell Steel are tied at 71, and Julian Kamaluddin and Kamal Rana trail just behind at 73. Rounding out the current top 12 are Khairul Hj Paun, Tony Hj Karim, Irwan Hj Abd Hamid, Hj Shahminan Hj Damit, and Zunaidi Tuah, all within striking distance.

The top 12 after Day Five will advance to the final round on Sunday, 10 August, to compete for the Green Jacket and the Challenge Trophy. With plenty of golf still to be played, that list is far from final.

In the Ladies’ division, defending champion Almas Syadwanie Kamis is back in familiar territory, leading the field with a solid 78. Agnes De La Cruz and Julia Hwong are tied just behind at 82, keeping the pressure on as the tournament continues.

There was excitement on Hole 16 yesterday when a near-perfect shot came within just 20 centimetres of the cup, a dramatic reminder of what’s on the line for those gunning for a hole-in-one. This year’s prizes include three Electric Vehicles (EV) – a BMW iX, a Porsche Macan and a MINI Aceman - and a BND20,000 cash prize. With conditions still playing fair, the opportunity remains wide open.

While the leaderboard continues to shift, the purpose behind the Baiduri Masters remains steady. One hundred percent of all golfer registration fees go directly to five local charities: the Child Development Centre (CDC), SMARTER Brunei, La Vida, Learning Ladders Society, and the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB). These organisations work across developmental therapy, inclusive education, and assistive technology, providing essential care to those who need it most.

The more golfers who register, the greater the total impact. Every round played means more support for the community, and more lives touched through the work of these organisations.

There’s still time to register for the final flights of the Baiduri Masters this weekend. Players can sign up for a flat rate of BND120 for the Men’s, Ladies’, and Senior’s categories, and BND60 for the Junior category. A discounted rate of BND115 is available for online registrations via www.maribali.com.bn.

Alternatively, players may register in person by submitting the completed form and making full payment at the registration counter at PMGC. Registration forms are available online and on-site. To download the form or find out more, visit www.baiduri.com.
