After days of competition on the course, the Baiduri Masters 2025 wrapped up with a celebration of 30 years of community, collaboration, and impact, and BND82,000 raised for charity.
During his opening remarks at the prize presentation ceremony at J Hotel on Sunday, Pg Azaleen bin Pg Dato Hj Mustapha, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Group Treasury and Institutional Banking cum President of the Baiduri Masters 2025 said: “Since the first tee off in 1995, the Baiduri Masters has grown into one of the most anticipated events on Brunei’s golf calendar, not just for the love of the game, but because of what it represents. Year after year, this tournament brings people together in support of causes that truly matter.
“To all the golfers who took part: this tournament would not be what it is without you. You are the heart of the Baiduri Masters. Your registration fees are more than just an entry to compete. They represent new equipment, upgraded facilities, training opportunities and most importantly, hope for a better future for the charities we support.”
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Awang Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin, Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
A total of 800 golfers -including complimentary slots - registered for this year’s tournament, with the five charitable organisations - the Child Development Centre (CDC), SMARTER Brunei, La Vida, Learning Ladders Society, and the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BNAB) – each receiving BND16,400, all from golfers’ registration fees.
Lim Beng Keat stormed through the playoff with a stunning 68 to claim the Green Jacket and Challenge Trophy. His composed performance left AK Md Syakir Pg Hj Alli and Qawi Aslimon, both finishing on 71, in second and third respectively.

Marcel Leong finished with an 82, Khairul Kamis with an 84, and Kamal Rana rounded out the finalists with an 87.
In the Ladies’ division, Almas Syadzwanie Kamis successfully defended her crown with a confident round of 74, maintaining her composure under pressure to stay ahead of the field. Her steady play throughout the tournament secured back-to-back titles, reaffirming her position as one of the most consistent performers in Baiduri Masters history.
In the Junior division, Muhd Harith Irfan Indera Putera claimed top honours with a composed round of 68, showing maturity and precision beyond his years. Close behind was Ak Muhd Khair Zakwan, who posted a strong 71 to secure second place and cap off an impressive performance in a highly competitive field of young talents.
As part of this year’s celebration, several former Baiduri Masters champions were invited back to honour the tournament’s legacy and ongoing impact. Among those who attended the prize presentation were Johari Ahmad, Khairul Kamis, Toni Karim, Ak Syakir Pg Hj Alli, Qawi Aslimon, Irwan Hamid and Wan Man Wan Hill — all of whom have contributed to the tournament’s rich history over the years.
Although no golfer managed to claim a hole-in-one this year, the tournament once again offered some of the most coveted prizes in Brunei’s golfing calendar, thanks to the generous sponsorship of event partners QAF Auto and QAF Prestige. Up for grabs were a BMW iX, a Porsche Macan, a MINI Aceman, and a cash prize of BND20,000. These rewards added an extra layer of excitement and kept players aiming for perfection on holes 7, 9, 13, and 16.
The Baiduri Masters 2025 was proudly supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as the official supporter, while Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata were official media partners.
