THE BAIDURI MASTERS 2026 – FINAL DAY UPDATES
16 August 2026

After two weekends of competition, camaraderie, and community giving, the Baiduri Masters 2026 concluded today with BND75,000 raised for charity, reaffirming the tournament's longstanding role as a platform that brings together golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and the wider community in support of meaningful causes.

Present as the Guest of Honour at the prize presentation ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, who joined golfers, sponsors, charitable beneficiaries, and invited guests in celebrating the conclusion of this year's tournament.

During the prize presentation ceremony, Ti Eng Hui, Chief Executive Officer of Baiduri Bank, thanked golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters for contributing to another successful edition of the tournament. In his remarks, he noted that while the figures were encouraging, the true success of the Baiduri Masters lies in the generosity of the people who continue to support the event year after year. He also reaffirmed the tournament's commitment to channelling 100% of golfers' registration fees directly to charity, a practice that has been in place since 2024.

A total of 653 golfers registered for this year's tournament. Proceeds from golfers' registration fees were distributed equally among five charitable organisations — La Vida, SMARTER Brunei, Learning Ladders Society, Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, and An-Nur Harapan — with each organisation receiving BND15,000.

Lim Beng Keat successfully defended his Baiduri Masters title after producing a superb championship-round score of 66. His composed performance saw him finish ahead of former champion Ak Mohd Syakir Pg Alli, who carded a four-under-par 68, while Muhd Irwan Hj Abd Hamid, the 2024 Baiduri Masters champion, completed the podium with an excellent 69.

Ak Muhd Zaidan Pg Hj Ahmad Zaki, a 15-year-old rising star who stepped up from the Junior division to compete in the Open category, delivered a standout performance to finish fourth with a one-under-par 71. Former Baiduri Masters champion Johari Ahmad followed in fifth on an even-par 72, while Marcel Leong secured sixth place with a 74.

Rounding out the top 12 were Hj Shahminan Hj Damit on 76, Zulhilmi Hj Rosli, 14-year-old Mohd Harith Irfan Indera Putera, and Bryan Chiew on 77, Mahendra Phagami on 78, and Faiz Damit on 84. The performances of both Zaidan and Harith highlighted the strength of Brunei's emerging golfing talent and underscored the opportunities the Baiduri Masters provides for younger players to test themselves against more experienced competitors.

The Ladies' title race also remained firmly in focus. Almas Syadzwanie Kamis completed a remarkable run by securing her third consecutive Baiduri Masters Ladies' title. Having first claimed the crown in 2024 and successfully defended it in 2025, Almas once again demonstrated consistency and composure to remain at the top of the field, adding another chapter to what is becoming one of the tournament's most impressive records.

This year's tournament also introduced a Ladies' Longest Drive category, adding a new dimension to the competition and encouraging greater participation among women golfers. Kumar Purja Pun claimed the Men's Longest Drive title, while Almas Syadzwanie Kamis victorious in the inaugural Ladies' category, capping off a closely contested competition that rewarded precision as much as power.

While no golfer managed to claim a hole-in-one prize this year, the tournament once again offered some of the most sought-after prizes on Brunei's golfing calendar. Up for grabs were a BMW X3, Porsche Macan EV, MINI Cooper, and a BND20,000 cash prize. Several golfers came agonisingly close, including one shot that finished just 5 centimetres from a Porsche Macan EV on Hole 16. Other notable near misses included 74 centimetres from the BND20,000 cash prize, 50 centimetres from the MINI Cooper, and one metre from the BMW X3.

The Baiduri Masters 2026 was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as the official supporter. QAF Auto Sdn Bhd and QAF Prestige Sdn Bhd were the tournament's event partners, contributing the BMW X3, MINI Cooper, and Porsche Macan EV offered as hole-in-one prizes throughout the tournament. Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata served as the exclusive media partners, providing coverage across both weekends of competition.

As the final putts were holed and the trophies presented, the Baiduri Masters once again demonstrated that its impact extends well beyond the golf course. For more than three decades, it has remained a platform that brings people together to compete, contribute, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
