What changes are being made to Baiduri Bank cheques?
We are making a minor update to our cheque design. In the new cheque design, the “or bearer” feature will be removed from the “Pay to” field. This means that cheques can only be paid to the person whose name is written on the cheque.

The updated cheque design is aimed at protecting customers from the risk of lost or stolen cheques.

What are the key dates that I should be aware of?

How will this affect me?
Personal Banking and Business Banking Current Accountholders who hold cheque books in the previous design are encouraged to aim to use them up before 30 June 2024.
Meanwhile, customers who have been issued with Baiduri Bank cheques in the previous design should deposit the cheques by 30 June 2024, as cheques in the previous design will no longer be honoured from 1 July 2024 onwards. -
I was issued a cheque in the previous cheque design before 1 July 2024, but I did not manage to deposit it by 30 June 2024. Can I still deposit it after this date?
From 1 July 2024 onwards, cheques in the previous design will no longer be accepted by Baiduri Bank regardless of the issue date of the cheque. We would advise you to request the drawer of the cheque to provide you with a cheque in the new design.

I was not aware of the changes being implemented and deposited a cheque in the previous design through a Baiduri Bank Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) after 1 July 2024. What will happen to my cheque?
If you deposit a cheque in the previous design through a CDM after 1 July 2024, the relevant branch will contact you to return the cheque. A BND10 fee will be charged to the drawer of cheque for the returned cheque.

How can I request for a new cheque book?
At any Baiduri Bank branch
To request for a new cheque book at any Baiduri Bank branch, please complete a Cheque Book Order Form by providing the following information:- Date of request
- Current Account Number (Issuance of cheque book fees will be debited from this account)
- Number of cheque books
- Number of leaves per cheque book
Via Baiduri b.Digital Personal or b.Digital Business
To request for a new cheque book via Baiduri b.Digital Personal or b.Digital Business, please navigate to Service Request > Cheque Book Request.
You will then be prompted to select an account number, number of leaves and your preferred branch for cheque book collection.
We will contact you once your new cheque book is ready for collection at your preferred branch. -
How long will it take to receive my new cheque book(s)?
Please allow up to five (5) working days for your new cheque book(s) to be ready.

Is there a fee for requesting a new cheque book?
Yes. The standard fees for issuance of new cheque books will apply as follows:
