BAIDURI FINANCE RESPONDS TO COVID-19 CONTROL MEASURES, OFFERING FINANCIAL RELIEF MEASURES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES
25 August 2021

In line with guidelines from Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), Baiduri Finance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baiduri Bank, continues to provide relief measures for individuals and business that are financially impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Baiduri Finance is offering Hire Purchase (HP) principal deferment for both individuals and businesses until 31 December 2021. “With the support and guidance from the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank, we have extended these measures to assist those who find themselves in need of financial assistance in light of the COVID-19 situation,” said Hj Haliluddin Dato Hj Talib, Managing Director of Baiduri Finance.

To apply for this deferment, eligible individuals and companies are required to submit the HP Deferment Application Form with all supporting documents during office hours via the drop box located outside the main entrance of Baiduri Finance, Sumbangsih. Forms can be downloaded from www.baiduri.com.bn/covid-support-measures under the ‘Downloadable Forms’ tab. Each application will be assessed by Baiduri Finance based on set criteria and applicants will be updated on the status of their application.

To minimise the risk of infection, customers are also encouraged to use digital channels such as the Baiduri Finance Mobile app to make HP payments using any locally issued credit or debit card, renew their car insurance and road tax among others. To apply for HP, customers can do so via HP Online which is available on www.baiduri.com.bn/baiduri-finance/services/hp-online or through the link available on Baiduri Finance Mobile. There are also a number of alternative self-service channels available for customers who do not have a Baiduri account such as free direct interbank online transfers until 31 December 2021, ATMs and Cash Deposit Machines. Visit www.baiduri.com.bn/baiduri-finance/covid-19-hp-payment-via-digital-channels for more information.

WhatsApp hotlines have also been introduced for selected services including Bluecard assistance, HP Care (vehicle insurance and road tax renewal) and general customer support. Customers are required to set up appointments for these services before visiting the branches to reduce queuing time.

In anticipation of higher demand during the peak period following payday, Baiduri Finance counters will only be accepting HP payments from now until 10 September 2021. Appointments for all other services will be scheduled from 13 September 2021 onwards.

Speaking on these measures, Haji Haliluddin said, “The safety of our employees and customers is of utmost priority to us. We are constantly making adjustments to our operations based on the latest guidelines from the authorities, while striving to meet the needs of our customers.”

In accordance with guidelines from the Ministry of Health, only customers with a green or yellow code on their BruHealth will be allowed entry to branches. Scanning of QR code and mandatory temperature checks will be conducted at the entry point and customers will be required to practise social distancing.
